Looking For Some Good Accomodation Agents

Looking for some good accomodation agents Apr 30, 2006
I'm moving to Dubai in late May/early June time to set-up a regional office for my employer. Initially I won't have residency but I have several local partners who have offered to rent something in their name for me while this is sorted out. I need to rent an appartment near DIC; either a single bed furnished place or "appartment hotel" for 3-months while I get things sorted out, or a 2-bed unfurnished apartment on the usual annual lease. I'm also open to flat-shares while i'm in "start-up" mode.

Can you recommend some local agents names/numbers? .. i've found making phone calls from the UK to numbers in the papers doesn't get a great response - hence the preference for personal recommendation.

Randomly (ie. not advance planned) i'm in Dubai for a few days on business at the moment (staying near the Marina) and leaving on Thursday morning. If possible i'd like to meet up with a couple of agents to talk things through and get them working on some plans for me.

Any ideas?

Off the top of my head I'd suggest Better Homes, Asteco, Landmark. Whenever I've dealt with them I've been happy enough.

You could try www.expatriates.com , www.dubizzle.com , www.gulfnews.com for classifieds. And www.gowealthy.com has useful apartment/villa information (maybe only for ones still being developed) but don't know if it has classifieds.

www.expatriates.com is always "Blocked" for me whenever I try to login to it. Has anybody experienced this as well? Any solutions?
cheers...

Christian,

Welcome to Dubai!

I hope things are going well so far. I sent you a PM yesterday, I don't know if you got it...

The above mentioned companies are good - I'd like to do one better and offer more options, and save you money at the same time.

Please do get in contact before you leave:

Best wishes.

I think Etisalat blocked it a year or two ago because it has personal ads on it. But the free zones and some of the residential developments still have access no? Also some companies outside the free zones don't go through the proxy. And overseas can still access it. And anyone who gets around the proxy.
