Very since there's still Hussey*, Gilchrist, Clarke, Martyn*, Lee and Warne who can all bat.

4/121 - it's not over yet.

Still, only 47 runs required, or about 10 balls to Gilchrist.

Does that include a couple of dot balls?

Of course ;-)

We're saving him so he can hit a six to win. Clarke in now. Don't rate him as a test player (he did get 100 in the first innings though) but he is a quality one day player.

I'm just glad I don't work with any Aussies - just a South African and a couple of Pakistanis! [hangs head in shame]

Is there a sport we're currently any good at? :)

Taking too long to finish. Your mates keep bowling down the leg side, pretty soon the umpires will start calling wides.

Rough trot. To go from a 6/550 dec. to losing is very harsh.

To Yorky, Captain Obvious, Zoots and any other doubters who said I was mad when I said Australia would win this game yesterday, no need to apologise, just send money.

Shit I'm happy as a pig in its own faeces.

According to the BBC, no team has ever declared a higher first innings and then lost.

In short, England are record breaking chokers

Always look after themselves - they realise that they are useless without those two bowlers. Can you imagine the uproar had the Aussies not banned Warne 4 years ago?

I agree, however, you will have to find me first as i will be hiding (hint: look for the tallest building and you will find me on top, on the ledge)

England may just say "fook it" we will bat all day and let the Aussies toil. Its all about the mindset in this game. England have come out on top in this game, I believe, especially following the loss in the first test.

I think the rest of the series is going to be very interesting.

If England say "fook it" and just try to block and pad all day they're going to be in trouble. Spin on a 5th day wicket is impossible just to block and pad away and Warnie is a master in these conditions. He hasn't done much this test, but that's because he's saving himself.

Wind up merchant? Everything is going to plan, Australia will win, you will see. Don't come in here calling me lucky tomorrow morning when 'ol blighty is hanging it's head in shame.

Otherwise I'll buy you a pint of the good stuff next time we meet.

Lets get some perspective on this - England were just rubbish and had been papering over the cracks of the fact that they have lost two key batsman, an inspirational leader (Freddie is inspirational, but he's not a master tactitian to go along with it), Harmison couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo, we've lost a key bowler in Simon Jones (who in my opinion was the best bowler in the last Ashes series), and we've finally found a wicket taking spinner that can get out the top players of spin in the world, and he's left carrying the drinks because Ashley Giles might get an extra 10 runs in the game!
Forget the debate over Chris Read and Geraint Jones. To be honest, its a close call, and whilst it was harsh on Read to be dropped, in my opinion they have the number 2 keeper in England in the team, and the number 3 keeper is serving the drinks (the number 1 keeper isn't even on the tour!).
The England coach (Duncan Fletcher) should resign after this series (even if they win the next 3 tests). He's had his day, and the one-day form has been woeful at best!

My prediction is that there will be two changes for the next test. Saj Mahmoud will come in for Anderson (well, they are both as bad as each other), and Giles will make way for Monty. I'll also predict that unless they win the third test, or get a good draw (ie they were on top for the whole match, but are beaten to the win by a combination of some dogged batting and dodgy weather), then Vaughan will return to the team for the fourth test, and will return as captain.
If those things don't happen, Duncan Fletcher should just head straight to his home in South Africa and lock himself in!

Are you wearing green and gold?

Don't roll a spinner in Perth unless you think he's truly world class. Perth is a seamer's paradise.

It used to be a seamers paradise, but I hear they relayed the pitch and made a mess of it - now its a dead, batsmans paradise.
I wouldn't be happy with us going into a match with five seamers anyway - but I'd be happier than the situation of having Giles in the team - I'm a better spinner than him!
