Thank you Scarlet, I will certainly be driving a hard bargain. Is it a higher cost of living than London for example. I currently rent a 1 bed shoeboxfor £750/$1500 and thats out in Greater London!

14,000 per month is enough to get yourself in trouble. Have a look in Gulf News classifieds for rents. Those are actual prices and you should pan to pay more than what you see in the paper. Figure a few months between deciding to move and making the jump, well in Dubai rents will go up in that time...
