OK, how about a range anyway. Would you say their systems engineers get anywhere between $5000 - $9000?

Degree educated, more than 10 years exp., and nationality Canadian even though I doubt that Cisco looks at anything other than education and experience.

Your thoughts?

Hi marketexplorer :-) It really depends on the company and what the job is. I know many PhD friends who went to teach at Universities in UAE and got all their expenses paid for including their families tickets, shipping, and the whole deal. I would wait and see, it is possible that you may get a com...

True! Unlike other places in the world where I have friends, UAE is the only place where one of my friends lost his daughter in a car accident. Also, recently, I read on Aljazeera that one of their staff lost his family..his wife, his daughter and his son. They took a cab going to school registratio...

Could someone please let me know what the heck is meant by:

0BR - 1BR flat?

Stuart, Thanks for the reply; interesting! I never thought it would mean the chill factor :-) I actually thought it meant bedroom, hence the confusion about the 0BR! I shall take a look at gulfnews.com but I will always insist on seeing the place before commiting to anything if I ever come to Dubai ...

Never pay those agencies they are a scam. Real recruitment agencies get their money from employers NOT from employment candidates. Anyway, what you have been told is true that you have to be there to get a job. I just called an agency there to do follow up and guess what? I don't think I will get th...

This is exactly the problem with many people that just ticks me off .. leave if you dont like it ... not exactly the way in which to build a strong and health community. There is a deeper discussion at hand which you obviously did not get. Dubai is a good place and this discussion is about how Duba...

Yes, I am aware of the proverb. It's not the critic who counts; it's the doer who makes the caravan move on. Our business in Dubai has employed lots of people, provided them with respectable jobs and treated them with respect - and we have all made contributions to the growth of Dubai. As a contrib...
