Hi,
Can anyone tell me whether a full UK background check is required for granting of a Dubai Visa?
I am informed pretty reliably that going to Dubai with a record is usually no problems.
I have a criminal record in the UK but all my convictions are 'spent' here. I was convicted to imprisonment of 14 months in the UK in 2008.
A friend of mine is in the same position but on the Sex Offenders Register (attempt crime) here in the UK although his conviction is spent. Could you advise us both as we are thinking of travel together?

Lawyer confirmed this is not an issue - only Criminal Record in Dubai is an issue
