do you remember the big hoo-har when the uk wanted to open on sunday for business. everyone said no no, day of rest etc. then after the controversy, it has now become another saturday with alot of business and money made.

except here, of course, they take their holy days ALOT more seriously!

what is flipping the bird? i know middle fingers etc are very dicey here, as is violence, so if you really want to stand up, just copy whatever they do, then you cant get in trouble for escalating the situation. but they could! or rise above it of course, but i would normally launch them (in uk), so...

my phone bill back to the uk over a 5 month period or so was 1000 pounds, or 7000 AED. i was alyways calling a uk mobile and always using standard wasel top ups.

if you need to, its the only way! just try not to need to!

my training was all done in the uk, i havent done any in dubai because i cant find anywhere close enough and cheap enough.

even an empty room with a punchbag would be enough for my thai boxing! my gym has everything but!

i live in bur dubai, im english, and there are enough of 'us' here to feel happy enough.

it is a bit more squalid than say the marina, but beggers cant be choosers! and al least it feels lived in!

why bother with a 40gb ps3 when the 60gb version is 1700AED?

the 40gb version is (as i heard it) without ANY backward compatability, 4 usb ports reduced to 2, and no menory card slots. rip off.

it is great that there is no violence here, even raised/aggravated voices are rare, makes me miss the 'i'll nut you just for looking at me' mentaility of good old 'up north' england!
