So desperately did the little witch want to transform into a mortal that she would do anything told by her mentor.

Deep in the woods on Island Unigzizd, Lily(the renamed little witch) followed her mentor to an open place beside an old pear tree. She was surprised to find there already a fire lit on the ground and the mentor, was actually blind.

He was sitting beside the fire, with his face facing towards where Lily was standing as if he had his eyes rested on her. 'Lily, your mother was an old friend,' he started to talk, 'I knew you since long before. Now come, near to me.'

Having not given it a thought, Lily went to him. She saw a jade dagger held in his hands, shinning with a gender glow.

'Undress yourself,' he said. She did so.

'Now cut your left chest open.' He handed the dagger over to her.

She hesitated but still she pointed the knife towards her chest and, slowly the blade sinked into her skin.

She was so surprised however that she felt no pain and that their was very little blood, she reached the area of her heart and suddenly.......

she screamed out of scare.

She saw no heart there inside...

It indeed was a frightening moment until she realized that her Mentor had her heart and was....

burning it. It burnt and burnt, and burnt till nothing was left.

'Wooden hearts are not for humans Lily,' he said, 'the heart you had, was a wooden one.'

And suddenly he produced a live heart and proceeded to introduce the organ into her chest cavity, she couldn't believe that through all of this she was still conscious, and then suddenly the door burst open and.......

Lily felt a ghostly breeze...

as the image of......

her one and only true love...

sorry whitejade had interpreted it bit different, in my mind the heart had been put in, she felt a breeze and it was someone else appearing.
