Recycling: Where in Dubai?

Folks, I have probably over 100 empty cans and plastic bottles I don't want to throw them out in the garbage (but them my apt will look like a street persons abode). Anyone know a please to recycle them? I live in the Marina Area. And you do know whether I just simply bring them in or is there a haz...

No but recycling doesn't hurt anybody.

It's like wearing a seatbelt - you don't have to but if you don't: perhaps a fine, a bump in the forehead or death.

It's always about money

For decades (i.e. since childhood) I have been convinced that it is always about money. I mean everything and no one will convince me otherwise. And it does not mean greed. It simply means everything always comes down to money. Others have given me unconvincing examples. I dare anyone to give me an ...

Just maybe there would have been a trained lifeguard at the lake (costs money); perhaps mr. Sanchez would not have had to swin if he had his own boat with or without a motor (costs money); maybe Mr. Sanchez could have simply thrown some life jackets instead (cost money); maybe Mr. Sanchez could have...

"Zapata", sad to say but I supect you don't even know who the real "Zapata" was. FYI, Zapata "Born August 8, 1879, in Anenecuilco, Morelos. Was a mediero (sharecropper) and horse trainer. Conscripted into the army for seven years attaining the rank of sergeant. As president ...

Concord, why have you edited your original post to remove the line about love, health etc.?

I tell you why: simply becuase invariably those are the first examples of why it it not always about money - love, health, happyness. I think even those are untenable arguments.

In most world countries ...good a proper education is the purvue of the rich elite. I mean how many people can afford to pay their way through Harvard of Oxford unless they are fiscaly well off. Many Jews are fiscally well off or have good grasps on monetary institutions ... know how to help each o...

Unless the job comes with a personal helicopter stay away from the Marina (too far for land transport).

Val I suggest a search within the forum (and see above). Loads of previous suggestions. In summary I would say that an average apartment/car is comparable to any large (first world) city around the world (on average). Of course it depends on what you are looking for. I suppose you could share "...

What I find curious is: over 100 posts on the topic (albeit many repeat posters) but NOT ONE appears to be by a Woman Happy to Cover Up. All posts appear to be men justifying it (on religious grounds or otherwise) and woman (who do not cover up) against in (on right-to-choose grounds or otherwise). ...

Hatta Fort Hotel is nice for a weekend break, but probably don't advise the trip around the old fort in the summer even thought the rooms are airconditioned, the walk between them can be uncomfortable. If you have a 4x4 its only a short hop up the track to Hatta Pools and they tend to have water in...

Another thought,

From Arnie's post it may be worth looking up University/college news in the Toronto Area. If someone knows the names of these then there may be some information - a student's death (if so) often will make the school paper specially around graduation - late April/Mid May.

DK, agree 100% and have no doubt that there already exists a great deal of tolerance even here. Of course event places like London, New York, Sydney, Paris, etc. have intolerant people - luckily for al these are increasingly a marginalized minority. Tolerance is, as it should, spreading worldwide mo...
