Moving from India to Dubai - How much money to carry?

I will be moving to Dubai in a few months. I've never been there, it's a new place for me. I will be getting my salary after a month, but for the first month, I need to manage myself. I would like to know how much cash should I carry before I reach there. Also, can we get it exchanged at the Dubai Airport?
