Accomodation question: use an agent or go to bldg directly? Sep 02, 2008
Hi folks, I'm moving to Dubai next month and I've been doing some research on possible residential buildings I want to rent at.

Should I just go to the building and ask if they have vacancies? Or should I use a real estate agent (i.e. one of those who advertise in Gulf News)?

Please advise.

If you can, it's better to go to them direct, even the security guys will tell you if there are vacant apartments. I'd rather this than pay an agent for doing nothing.

I would suggest to do both. This is what I have done. I will go to the agent and says that I want to have a look. Then, I will move around by myself around that area to scout for the prices. It will be much better.
