Ok, folks today is the day you should be resisting lighting up those cancer sticks, as it's World No Tobacco Day today.
Give it a go, as you'll soon have to quit smoking in public places by the end of the year as the no smoking bans are implemented across Dubai.
And thank goodness for it!

^ i hope though this time for real. I heard they had smoking bans before but it did not work. This is the only place I've been to where people smoke inside malls.

As of today, smoking inside all Government buildings will be banned. And from September 15th (I think), smoking inside all shopping malls, resturants etc will also be banned. Outlets will have to provide proper smoking areas, and they're going to implement fines for people who violate the new bans.
They'll have to inforce the bans this time, as Dubai has just joined the World Health Organisation.

Now that's a breeze of fresh air for a change. I hope it holds up...
