This new site is going to change the way we research the world!
MAATC
After seeing the demo, I said out loud to myself “The world has just changed!” This is beyond my wildest dreams!

DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS ON WEB PAGES LIKE THIS THAT INVITE YOU TO 'UPDATE' FLASH PLAYERS OR ANY OTHER SOFTWARE ON YOUR PC. THESE LINKS CAN SO OFTEN DIRECT YOU IMMEDIATELY TO VIRUS OR TROJAN PAYLOADS WHICH YOUR BROWSER MAY INSTALL AUTOMATICALLY.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED BY SH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Speedhump
JEEZ I SHOULD BE A FECKIN' MOD (NOT THAT I WOULD) ... :D
MAATC
you have no idea go to sleep...

Speedhump
You f*ckwit pr*ck, I looked at that site and it invited me to click on a link to 'update' my flash software. That's a totally WELL KNOWN spoof by blackhats to infect people's machines with viruses. YES OR NO???????
Get the f*ck off these forums if you are so retarded as to post links to completely unsafe web pages like this.
Where are the MODS...? Lucky I never sleep... :D
MAATC
it not a spoof dont be a paranoid expat ...
smarty pants just type in
ITS A SEARCH ENGINE!!
Speedhump
Don't be paranoid? No-one should ever click on a link on a website that invites them to update 3rd party software on their pc. That's EVER.
Your website (I presume it's yours and this is spam/advertising?) MAY be safe but as I said this is a regularly used spoof to get people to download malware onto their pc.
If you have any intelligence and computer background at all you know that you should not release any new software that offers such links because of this. If you don't even know this then no-one should even bother with your software anyway..........
N'est pas dificile.

Seriously are you on crack or meth... coz ur high as f(()k

Ok ladies. Stop all the crap.

Anyway, I love the idea of this new search engine. The media will hype the sh!t out of it as being the next google but it's not, it's more like an easer to use front end for a matlab command line (or Mathematica obviously, but I've never used that).
Exciting stuff. Google have already started moving in this direction. For example you can type "150 miles per hour in kilometres" into Google and it will do the conversion for you. Quite handy, but a more advanced and easier to use one should be awesome.
PS: I love Wolframs stuff on Cellular Autonoma. The basic idea that complex behaviours (ie life itself) can be explained with simple rules makes sense to me.
Captain Australia
Wow, I'm an idiot. I didn't realise that it is actually LIVE now. Should read better. Time to have a play.
it appears that they are getting hammered now though.

Checked out , gotta say it's something. Moreso the money and finance section, was quite informative, the drawback being that the databases were not loaded. Only American Companies can be inputted.
Off course the best part is it's free. Another website dispensing a little more information, but with well stocked data bases costs me a good $75 a year.

Damn Speedbumper, WTF is wrong with you?
Update that damn computer of yours, because this website requires a flash plugin, which you obviously need to install first!

Lay off, you are sounding a bit dumb on this one. ;)
I have third party software on my browser (Firefox) set NOT to download active content from untrusted websites unless I want it. Therefore I saw the link which said click here to update your browser.
My browser plug-ins do not need updating, and I am quite simply pointing out to a lot of less able internet users (I think you seem to be one), that healthy paranoia is GOOD when invited to click on links suggesting that you 'download' what could link an executable file containing a virus from an unchecked source. Has anyone here visited this website before? No. Did anyone know that it was the real Wolfram website and not a spoof set up with harmful intentions? No. Therefore why follow links on it saying 'click here to update your computer?
Really mate, rub your two braincells together a bit more often! :D
Quite simply the site complier should have just made a popup saying please go to the Adobe website and update your Flash installation.
The Wolfram engine is still quiote sparsely populated, I think it will be years maybe before it's a true HAL9000 :) Nice work though.

OK why is this the ONLY site that ALLOWS and WELCOMES SPAM????

usually if a website invites you to update a software, as SH is saying flash player. I believe adobe will automatically update it in your pc if it is installed because their software comes with adobe updated... and inregards to this issue where a website is asking you to update your flash using a third party, it is much better be carefull as sometimes it may cause your pc harm and or the update itself contains malicios malwares that can do harm to your pc. note that malwares nowadays are not the same as before where it will crash your pc those who do it are noobs, while professional blackhats usually want to access your pc through malwares or malicious code to steal your accnts or credit cards no. and or execute malwares like "antivirus 2009" pretending it is a legitmate antivirus and will ask you to pay or extort you to pay so that viruses will be remove. also blackhats now uses malware to create a zombie out of your pc witch enables them to control it and do as they wish with it, usually to hide them selves from the law...

Yes it's a shame that millions of people have no idea their box is infected and being used for bot attacks on commercial and even government sites. A lot of top level antivirus software for example doesn't even pick up some of these exploits, even code that's been around a while. Vundo for example. And I have to chuckle at the number of trojan-laden MSN messages I get nowadays from people who have clicked on a dodgy link in their IM program and got an infection. Those can be really hard to remove :D
Kaspersky's my choice. I even used to use a cracked copy of it years ago, I was a bad boy a while back :D :D Now I have to use Symantec corporate software, and its pants :(
Anyone that downloads warez or other illegal programs nowadays either better be damned good at sussing what's safe, and if it's not then knowing how to fix it, or otherwise be prepared to re-install their OS once a month :D
But, no, of course, Robby's absolutely right...I'm just paranoid :P
portland
well better to be safe than never... pirated warez it is really hard to really on them, gives you a lota bunch of problems in the long run... hey try eset anti virus much better than norton. norton is a memory hog and eats to much resources as far as i know...
Captain Australia
Avast antivirus for the win! ... and it's free.

If you read the message from my 2 braincells correctly, you would noticed that I was making fun of your paranoia for updating that 7th Century PC you got there.
My PC on the other hand, is fully updated with the latest plugins and doesn't ask for downloads or installs while accessing this website....
So SH  you should update that ol' crackerbox of yours before spraying paranoia around. This website just played a demo.
No more. Now who's paranoia? :D :D :D
Speedhump
LOL....no more from you either, you Luddite!! :D
Use NoScript plug in for Firefox. It stops all manner of annoying pop ups and adverts unless you actually enable them if you want them. Probably useful for all those pr0n sites you surf but don't pay for, you dog!!! You can write your own scripts for it too. :dark1:
Have a niiiiice day now...... :rr:

No, 'software wants to be free'....and there will be plenty of people still helping it, you can bet. Pirate Bay was only the tip of the iceberg, very visible but only a small percentage of the problem. Software theft has been going on since long before torrents were thought of. ;)
portland
yup i new that not only software though , anything that can be copied and capitalised with hehehe

O snap, the pirate bay is shutting down. I have to find a new torrent site!!!

I tell you I have some stories from back in the day, not that I condone software theft in any form, if you try it and like it, then buy it!
