xty If I put all my detail skills/responsibilities like that on my resume from my years of experience, I would make a book! From many job vacancies (in this case IT), they don't know what they're talking about. This is where HR should not "interfere". How do they expect the candidates to proof ALL practical things like that at time of interview? What's the purpose of probation time then? The sad thing is that with all of these skills, duties, responsibilities, if it's an Indian company (most IT) or they prefer to have Indian candidates ("the connection"), they would probably offer them no more than 5000! We're not God who can do everything and slave to be paid cheap! No wonder why having decent job with good salary in Dubai now is so damn difficult! Even if you have standout skills/experience.

The Systems Administrator/Technical Support Agent will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, customization and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Technology department. He/She will focus on the administration of the internal network infrastructure to include desktop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications.
The Systems Administrator will assess and identify the appropriate solutions to be implemented and integrated into the company’s technology operation and make recommendations for implementation.
He/She will be responsible for the customer/technical support, follow up with the customers, on site visits to customers to assess and recommend technical solutions to problems related to authentication, IP change, Proxy and firewall restrictions, as well as Tracking and monitoring the problems to insure a timely resolution. RELATIONSHIPS:
Works under the direction of the Information Technology Manager; this position requires excellent system administration and customer service /organizational skills to support administrative personnel, as well as direct support to clients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
• Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include desktop/laptop PC’s, servers, network equipment, and software applications. • Monitors and maintains the various internal and external systems, including web portals, updates, database backup, CRM, network.
• Develops, maintains, and monitors procedures for all computers and server backups.
• Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of client/server software and service packs.
• Makes recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement. • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
• Perform on-site and remote technical support.
• Handle technical support cases according to the processes and make sure that the issues are resolved in a short time
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of SQL Server/Windows scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
• Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources.
• Maintains excellent communication with the IT Manager on all tasks and projects.
• Creates and maintains and up to date technical documentation.
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions or security breaches
• Handle the weekly mass mail campaign procedures by configuring the mail merge software, importing the list of contacts to an SQL 2005 database, running tests, checking incompatibility issues and dispatching the final mailer
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills
• Several years experience with Windows 2003 Server platforms with an emphasis on web publishing, SQL Server maintenance, ISA 2004/2006, Domain management, DNS management as well as system customization and maintenance. • Excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN and IP/Custom authentication methods
• Strong ISA Server implementation and maintenance Skills
• Excellent proxy solutions implementation, debugging and maintenance skills
• Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills
• Experience setting up and managing database systems such as SQL Server 2000/2005
• Ability to write and maintain end user and IT related documentation up to date regarding the implemented systems, procedures, user guides and manuals.
• Experience and deep knowledge of web development platforms and languages ( 2.0, J2EE, CGI, Perl)
• Strong Onsite and remote Customer support experience
• Must possess above average organization skills, excellent communication skills, and can demonstrate problem solving skills. Considered an out of the box thinker and displays a willingness to learn.
Experience: Four or more years of systems/network experience is required.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Must possess Microsoft 2003 MCSE certification.
