Sorry but the idea of a cabal of private banks having full and independent control of the Federal Reserve without any accountability to the federal government is really insane anyhow.
But that is now is at risk because Government Accountability Office -Congress’s investigation bureau- had recently complains over Fed’s monetary policy and lending operations. In March 09, the Senate voted to have the authority to audit the Fed and requiring the central bank to disclose the name of anyone to who it lends.
