It took me a while to figure out the difference between a forum and a blog (and probably don't know it yet).
I was wondering:
1) Someone set up and hosts DF
2) Someone pays for the advertisement
3) Advertisement fees are probably based on visits per day, post, etc.
therefore,
4) Someone gets paid for the this forum (by way of advertisement) who's that?
or maybe it does not work that way...

Ok I will try to answer you here because I write blog to make money. Basically Google (the cleverest guys) have introduced two systems to make money.
1. Called, Google adwards>>> you use this to advertise for something. Let’s say I have website for gift cards where people can buy online. I need to advertise my website through Google which means every time someone searches for gift cards through Google they might find my website. Now I pay Google for each click someone does, lets say £1 per click or whatever amount iam welling to pay.
2. Another system introduced by Google it is called Google AdSense. For example if I have a blog I sign for Google adsene and ask Google to put the adds in my website that relates to the key words in my blog. I have blog about making money online so Google have gave me codes for similar adds. now anyone click on my website then I get paid % of each click. You can not get your friends to click for you or anyone because as I said Google are very smart and will delete the account permanently
now this forum have a lot of add on the site and each time we post certain topic, Google send related add. The revenue for the clicks goes to the owner of this site.

What's the answer: who gets the cash for DF :roll: (and it isn't the person who hosts it, etc. as that means nothing)

the owner of this site get the money. the hosting company just get thier yearly fee for hosting only
