I guess nothing wrong with posting your own pic on the site, but if you are posting your pic on the site with a question of "where can you find a sincere man?" then people like me (maybe just me) will automatically think you are looking for a date here.
I also think nothing wrong with my picture, or using animal pic. We are in the internet, we are talking to everyone here, you for example, I saw your post and start talking to you and I don't even know you. I think I feel more comfortable not letting everyone know my face. You don't just talk to eveyone when you are on the street right? same principal we are alll stranger to each other. And as we've discussed before, the best places and ways to meet people here are through mutual friends, for quiet drinks out or social gathering - pubs, clubs and parties are not where you're going to find Mr nice guy. Plus remember there are far more women here than men, so the nice ones are usually taken and competition is fierce, put it this way, my girlfriends when they find blokes that are new to Dubai it's like "OOOoooohhhh FRESH MEAT!" says it all really doesn't it! there was this girl when i was in year 3 of my primary education/elementary where i really hate her from the moment that i saw her!!!, and i used to always play practical jokes on her, called her names, and she did the same to me vice versa,... who started the hate thing i dont know,.. its like we where destined to fight relentlessly!!! that lasted 3 years until we both went to highschool i was here in dubai and she was in manila, we had our skirmishes on my occaisional visit home,.. then we just kinda forget about each other's hate from the time we entered college untill last shopping festilval (eventually she came to dubai to work) i saw her at the creek buying some stuff .... its like magic! all those hate turned into something else.... !!! I have noticed something - it has become almost a ritual in the Dubai singles/dating scene to have a conversation on the first date with someone along the lines of 'everyone here is so ingenuine and materialistic and superficial'... yet after just a week or so of seeing that person, you realise they are really no different to the people they criticise! :( Oh well... :) Chocoholic Ah so so so so true my friend. You meet someone and they seem to be OK, then a few weeks later they show their true colours and just end up being seperficial like everyone else. Funny problem my girlfriends keep running into, is why are their so many young guys in Dubai, they meet someone they like then a few days later they find out the guy is like 22,23 it's happened so many times, where are all the guys in the late 20's, early 30's. I told them not to complain about younger guys, but they always worry about the immaturity factor. I always say, guys never grow up, the toys just get bigger and more expensive. And all guys aren't bad, I was mearly pointing out that this is a bit problem in Dubai. It's true about the maturity of guys, take in from someone who has always dated younger men, you always have to take off another 2 or so years to compensate for the immaturity factor. That's why I'm now with someone older than me as the young guys just take the p***. They just don't seem to grow up these days, I'm all fall people having fun, but there's a fine line between being fun and being childish, the latter is just so not attractive. I have met 13 year old girls who are more mature than 30 year old women. And same thing with guys .. I think Dubai has many serious demographic problems - although it is of course a predominantly male society given the nature of the economy and visiting workers, etc - this disguises the fact that there are massive gender imbalances (often more females than males) in certain age groups and nationalities I have very few male friends who I would consider to be in my age group, simply because there just are not many around. I have no problems socialising with my (much older colleagues), but I suppose it's not healthy in the long run. mAJOR pAIN there goes girls being complicated with their relationship !!!! ...i say ... find someone who you like and have fun with him .... dont complicate things ... if you do ... then your problem starts .. who cares about , age & race if you like some one ... then go by all means ... life is too short to be too picky !!! the only thing hthat is important in a relationship is that you guys ... like each other and you guys can be "normal" with each other ... with no pretentions and no reservations ... if you can say anything that you wanted to say ... vice versa ... when you guys can talk for hours without getting pissed off wioth each other .... basically if your happy with your someone. and both are equality responsible financially and emotionally .. then .. why bother being scared of him being young .... or being on another race .... No not at all, you should expect the guy to purchase dinner and movie on the first date, 100% and then from there if the lady offers it is up to him to accept... after a few dates dutch (both paying) can show respect for her to earn income and be independent, while relieving the stress of her thinking that she owes him for always paying for the dates. Another alternative is alternate, and have her plan and pay for the date... this can really become a fun alternative.
In my personal definition, a materialistic woman is one whom EXPECTS the man to pay always and even ask him to go shopping, then turns to him to pay. One whom only looks at the material world for comfort or acceptance. We call these people, "Closet Whores" as they don't ask for money outright, but get it through other means... these type of women don't consider this as a form of prostitution but in essence it is. I have a friend here in Dubai that has a ferrari and his ex wouldn't allow him to pick her up unless he was in the ferrari versus any of his daily cars. She would take a taxis instead!!!?

A friend of mine (no ex) wife married with him for about 2 years when he was going through a transition and low and behold... she divorced him after about six months! Nothing is wrong with asking where a person is from or who they work for... but when it is in the context of, "Oh, your not X nationality or in X position of a job, then you are not good enough for me" is when it is materialistic. Does a man have to have a X paying job or high ranking position to keep a woman happy?
I have to agree with you on the divorce issues, and I am not peeve to all of the facts. And again you are right about being with someone miserable... my last ex always complained about Dubai and its people, only to back home, low and behold, complained about how back home was slow and people are backwards. Always tried to point out the positive about life but in the end, we had to go our own ways.
