Where are shows like these..??

St.Lucifer man i miss them on TV. Where are the good shows like this.. :D hahhahahahahaahaha beloved HP sent me a link to mind your language on you tube. I found this one so very funny.. that i think i'mma get complaints from my neighbours tmw.. I've been laughing non stop for almost 50 mins now.. :D &NR=1 See it for yourself.. :D Dubai Knight I daresay some do-gooding, PC, tree hugging twat would complain that it was "Denigrating to those less fortunate not to be able to speak English" and it would be banned! :shock: :shock: :shock: Knight shafique This was one of our favourite shows in the 70s. My parents (who were immigrants to the UK loved the show - and were quite proud of the fact Francoise Pascal - the French lady in the prog - is from Mauritius.) The you-tube clip brought on a pang of nostalgia - enough for me to go and download all 29 episodes from the inter-web/torrents (it will probably take a few days!). I remember one episode where I learnt that Jesus was jewish from the show - the Italian guy was up in arms when the Greek guy said Jesus was jewish and the teacher had to step in and say that he was! Knight shafique dup post - stupid internet delays! shafique DK - just did a Google and it appears you are in luck. There are DVD-rips of S1 out there, I'll just need to check whether people are sharing them or not. There are 13 episodes in S1 and each programme is about 350mb. I remember it fondly too, but I think it would be cringeingly bad to watch now (I do also recall thinking the later series to be pants and not featuring Blake - so good call on S1). I do remember the Tomorrow People! However I am old and decrepit and can even remember the very very first episode of Dr Who!
I saw a re-run on BBC2 in the UK of one of the later B7 epiosdes and yes, it was all wobbly BBC sets and really crap acting, but S1 had just that something special. I have long had a debate with a mate of mine about Servelan...was she hot? or not?

I was only 9 when B7 first came out - so didn't have have an opinion on Servelan at the time... (to be honest I don't remember the names - just Blake and Avon) :)

I think you can get the entire DVD set (there were only 2 series I believe) in Virgin Megastore and Spinneys video stores.
Just priceless!

Do you mean Father Ted about the vicar comedy - that was good as well. I was offered tickets to see the first series being filmed and turned it down (I phoned up for 'Have I got news for you' and was told that they had tickets for a show about some Irish Catholic Priests living on an island - which didn't sound too promising at the time. Sigh.
More fondly remembered 70's (&80s) comedies - Rising Damp, Yes Minister/Prime Minister, George and Mildred (and at a stretch Terry and June), Are you being served?....
Ahh - the nostalgia:

I have varied tastes... at the risk of showing off..
Last night I watched 'Juno' - a new film (highly recommended), read a bit of Noam Chomsky on politics, read an essay on Khilafat in Islam - read to my daughters, watched some cartoons with the kids and started watching the latest episode of Prison Break before heading to sleep. [Not necessarily in that order though :) ]
Tonight it's CSI Miami and perhaps some Mind Your Language if it has finished dling (St Luc, it still hadn't finished when I left this morning).
Best show on at the moment though is the latest series of 'The Wire'.
As for 1974 - I can reel off the comedies such as Cheers, Frasier, Seinfeld etc which are excellent (sadly few Brit comedies could match Frasier - which strangely had a very British sense of humour).
I do also watch documentaries - history, politics etc - but I tend to watch telly for relaxation and read for information. Sometimes the two do combine into excellent satirical comedy - the likes of Mark Thomas, Michael Moore (when he wasn't making films and writing books - produced some TV shows for the UK), as well as Bremner, Bird and Fortune.
All in all, I am a couch potato and my beer belly proves it... must get out more! (Especially as I also spend time on the interweb!)
