xty Just curious, I found many Asian women hooked up (or eventually getting married) with white men. But I found it rare for Asian men hooked up with white women (or the other way around). I'm referring Asian here as South East Asian (Indonesian, Filipino, Singaporean, Malaysian, Thai, etc) and East Asians (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc). For all the white women here (American, European, South African, Australian, etc) what do you think of Asian men? Have you ever interested with them? And why is that? off-road Dude ............ When I initially came across this and for a long time, it was simply "a meal ticket" whilst the men had a "good looker" on their arm. Love would come eventually, but not initially.
That preception has changed somewhat, but sadly, there are too many horror stories and not enough "good ones" to balance it.

Not being a women, but it could perhaps be the perception Asian men have of their women in that in the main, their women are submissive, homely and child-bearing. Western women are not the above and would rather give you a gob-full and a smack on the back of your head with a frying pan than be told what to do :lol: Chocoholic Honestly? Just don't find them attractive. I like a mans man, tall, athletic, strong. You just don't get that with these nationalities. Sry Kull I didnt mention abt men being shallow just that men are attracted to one thing in woman "her beauty" her external beauty is 80% value. This is what exactly I was looking for... women think they know what they want but "it just happens" it's different story cos you will feel attracted to the person deeply ingrained in your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind may see handsome mind = date but after date you will find something "missing" in him. Experienced women will be more explicit in this.

Jeez Choco I am talking abt waaaaaaaaaaaay after attraction phase and u are still stuck at attraction phase!!! An experienced woman can know if she is attracted to a man in less than 3 secs. His body language, voice tonality and depth, his rate of breathing , his energy levels etc are so many cues which tells her if he is a "mating" material. If you put two hot woman around a butt ugly man he is more likely easy to hook with somebody then left alone by himself.

I have met one American woman married to a man from Hong Kong, and she was taller and bigger than him. It looked a bit strange when they were standing next to each other, but they are in love and have two cute kids - what more could a person ask for! No worries. But as a card-carrying man, I simply disagree with you. Teenage girls and young women undoubtedly enjoy advantages based on their looks, but in my experience, those advantages fade pretty quickly...and, more importantly, they're pretty meager advantages to begin with. Women don't lead oncology departments or sit on boards of directors because of their appearance, and too easy a path early in life can be a hindrance for anyone later on.
On a personal note, I'm 40, and I'll take the 30-year-old every single time in your scenario. And that's coming from someone who's still on very good terms with his 25-year-old ex-gf. I'm not immune to genetic suggestions, but I make my own decisions, and like what I like. And what I like, even over the course of a little fling, is a certain combination of looks, wit, worldliness and earnestness about the future that's far more common in women who are past their 20s.

Let me check...yep, I'm still a man. And what you've described here seems like, well, a grown-up human being, not just one with XX chromosomes.

Well, for starters, men have historically held positions of wealth and power. Women don't want those things, on the whole, any more or less than men, and when it's not possible to buy large tracts of land or build a business empire, it's natural that they'd get wealth and power in the most obvious way: through their relationships with men.
I don't know about Mick Jagger, though I take it that he was a sexy beast when he was younger. Oprah was an interesting counterexample. A few years ago, a popular comedy show in the States (Chapelle's Show) did a skit on exactly what you described: a slacker got Oprah pregnant, and rode her coattails. Every guy I know nodded and laughed.
Power isn't sexy for everyone, but the things that money and power can buy are awfully alluring. That's true for Mick Jagger, Oprah, Catherine the Great, on and on. I will have to second that, people who mention all these romantic sounding things about women are obviously the ones living in a dream world, a woman wants to feel feminine, the more womanly she is and the manlier the man needed to make her feel this way, plain and simple. The average man wants to believe that women are mysterious and impossible to understand, but this is just so far from the truth. The fact of the matter is the day most men and women accept reality, which is that women want REAL men, everything will become much more simple.
Forget about finding out what women want by asking them, they don't even know it themselves! A more productive exercice is to look at the men any particular woman has been involved with, you will notice certain common traits (which are usually the direct opposite of what she will say she wants if asked) this will give you data that has much more to do with reality.

well size does matter..... men are attracted to women with large breasts and it adds to her asset! In Dubai you wont find many asians hanging out with white women cos of social difference and mentality difference.
It's true it's hard for Asian men to hook up with Caucasian women cos of perceived value whereas a cute white male has to do nothing but stand there to woo women which is due to his "passive" value. It's like this being born rich one doesnt have to work hard to earn money and one doesnt understand until rug is pulled under the legs and if he/she has to earn money it will be 10 times harder cos they didn't invest time to develop money making skills. Qualities like confidence ,determination and perseverance are acquired and nobody is born with it.
Similarly I have seen many cute male models hooking up with women easily but many cant keep em. Hooking up is one thing and relationship is other. These ppl have bland personalities.
Whereas Asian men who are good with many Caucasian women , i have seen a trend, they have separate skills, they are good story teller, good sense of humor, style, personality and get physical quite fast. They make up or work harder against "conceived" notion that "Asian men are bad in bed". This is actually true these days. We Western asses really love to put away our parents in a comfortable elderly care facilities or whatever that is called. But I must say, they love it there. So I'm part of it too.
It gives us more time to do the things in life, we really want. But I agree it is all up to the individual in the way he/she handles this issue. Life is very short don't you think? Better to let the care over to the professionals.

Well when my mother was dying I did put her in a hospice where she was given the best care possible in the last days of her life. It also made it easier to be with her at that time. There are hospices all over the US to help with the dying process and the family. Another great thing they have in the US are retired adult living communities. These communities keep these retired adults active and "young". They have alot in common and understand each other. And for your information, in the US many families take in their aging parents and care for them. portland

Yup there are plenty of Hospices in my country, but then again filipino people prefer to have their parents with them even when they grow old and die, that's how strong the FAMILY TIE is...And mostly old age Hospices in the country they mostly put there abandoned old people who are found in the streets living. My mother was a very independent and proud woman with tremendous dignity and died from lung cancer. And there were no homeless people in the hospice where she was!! I tend to think that there is a big difference in what a hospice in the US is and what is in the Phillipines. Please don't envision a Phillipine hospice as the same as one in the US.

Voluntary means you decide if you die, not other people. It's not actually legal in the Netherlands but they don't prosecute doctors who do it (right I think Robby?). I saw it on TV once, it was very peaceful, the guy's family were there with him, very touching. It was a nice way to go as he was dying of an incurable illness and he had put all his personal affairs in order. Of course it was sad but it also seemed quite correct.
Better than dying puking your guts up and screaming in pain, horrifying your grandchildren. Either that or slipping away unconscious, being able to say no goodbyes due to needing a huge amount of painkilling drugs. Not very honourable! RobbyG

Imagine yourself a situation where you had an accident after which you can't do anything anylonger. Your capabilities are zero. No movement, getting fed with a spoon by someone else and the mind is still in full effect! The law in Holland lets you (in very very certain medical cases) decide (or your direct relatives) whether you can end your life.
I think this is appropriate. Not a healthy human being is allowed to use this law since it is monitored by specialists in the field first and judged under law. otherwise this was called murder.
In some cases, the quality of life has reduced to zero while the brain is working like before. Some people say for themselves. This is not how I want to live the rest of my life. And rightfully so.

I've had 4 serious relationships thus far, and all of them were Caucasians. I, however, am mixed. I used to wonder the same thing. What do they really think about us mixies, or Asians, or Arabs, or Africans? If they are open to it, how come we don't see a lot of it. Well, my question was answered by my girlfriend. White women are brought up differently than their counterpart. Thus, they have a different mentality. A white male will be all open to relationships, fun nights, casual noogie with other races because they aren't thinking of the future. Ask them if they are planning to get married with them. Mostly likely, he will scratch his head and say "I don't know, man. The s*x is pretty good though". A female will be thinking of the future. She wants to find a mate who she can see herself living her whole life with. Someone who will fit in with her family. No culture barriers. So she naturally reserves herself to suitors in her own race because she simply more comfortable with them. When it comes to attraction, it comes down to looks. I am really really REALLY sorry to say this, but a look of an Asian (Flipino, Chinese etc) is appealing to a limited, mostly their own, audience only. If I go out with a Flipino, she must really posses something extraordinary. I am just not attracted to them one bit. I am sure Flipinas aren't attracted to me either. Absoloutly nothing wrong with that. Indians and Pakistani's, even though should be considered a separate category, are subjected to same rules. Why separate categories? They are different in nature. They are brought up differently. They also look quite differently too. One just has to have the observant eye. While Indians are usually more open to accommodate, Pakistani's are closely knitted to each other. I would advice any freedom loving white female to not date a Pakistani guy, though how liberal he seems. His upbringing will kick in eventually and you wont like what you see. (please note i'm not saying all asian or indian boys are like this but its the cultural norm) i mean in indian culture when a guy gets married to a woman, they move in with his mother and the rest of the family! the thought of this is abhorrent to a western woman! european couples on the other hand tend to embark on lives that are a little more independant of thier family which women appreciate more (nobody wants to be bossed around by thier mother in law thier whole life) i know the indian guy example is an extreme one, but my point is, asian men can be a bit more conservative the final factor in this equation, and i saved the best for last is asian womens perspective of european men; most asian girls that i've spoken to, when asked, will say they think that european men treat thier wives better! whether its true or not, that was thier opinion. also a european man is less likely to try to make his wife change her religion or culture (my partner is roman catholic... i'm christian other, and although i dont agree with her beliefs, i fully support her attempts to be closer to God, even if they are misguided from my perspective) a european woman wont want to cover her hair all the time, she wont want you telling how long her skirt has to be or how revealing her cloths can be, she wont want you telling her not to socialise with her girlfriends and she doesnt want to live with your mother! and given half a chance i think most asian women would choose not to do those things too! like i said... before you all shoot me down in flames, my opinion is formed only by observation, and what i know, if anything i've said is horribly incorrect, please feel free to correct me, but do so politely :)
