Just for sheets and giggles I thought I'd ask about expat's experiences visiting home for the first time.
I'm about to head home for a couple of weeks after 7 months in the country. 4 in Abu Dhabi, amost three in Dubai. My time here has been like a rollercoaster. Love it, hate it, love it, hate it. A few weeks ago I was hating this place and wanting to run off home, but now I'm feeling a little more comfortable and I may actually have some positives to say about the country.
I'm still longing to get back though, if even for a little while. I'm hanging out for a Coopers Pale Ale, oh and to see my friends and family too.
What was it like when you first went home, and more importantly, what were you like when you got back?

Everyone expected me to come back the colour of old mahogany, wearing a dish dash with cash stuffed in all my pockets...
