What SUV better to buy from NISSAN: Pathfinder SE 2007 or X-Terra SE 2008?
I'm planning to go to the desert 1-2 times per month, but I have 3 weeks old kid and my wife here with me, so they will be sitting in the back sit.
In the show room sales people were not able to tell me the exact difference for these two cars and help me with my choice.

My vote would be for the Pathfinder... lots of Torque.

Both have the same engine. The main difference is the Pathy has 4-wheel independent suspension, and the (lighter) Xterra has independent-front solid-rear suspension. Means Pathy more comfortable and Xtra is better offroad.

I would go for the X terra, they are both good in the desert, i would rather get a 2008 model + i like how it looks

Thank for your comments, but the question is still open:
a. pathfinder has 2 AC - it is a plus, taking in consideration that I have to put my wife and the kid on the back sit
b. pathfinder is longer and heavier, i.e. less acceleration and more pressure on the ground (more chance to stuck in the sand)
c. pathfinder have full independent suspension - more comfortable ride, but less control on the sand again
d. x-terra - have only dark interior options - so it will be quite hot in summer
