The latter is on top if you search "extremely rude web poster" traveller I see that quite a few have read my post mentioning www but no-one has offered any other good Dubai sites that are informative about a range of things in Dubai. I put the search words "Dubai gold souk" into Google UK and it was www. that was at the top. Similarly ,when I put the words "visit jumeirah" into Google UK , again it was the same site that appeared very near the top. This is what attracted me to the site,in the first place,plus I had actually put "visit dubai" into Google UK and Google world-wide and found this site on the front page of both . That indicates to me that it has good content,if Google are rating it so highly. If you haven't noticed, each and every one of his posts has a link to visit-dubai.co. traveller Reviewer. That's because that was the site I found when I made a gold enquiry on Google UK. People like you must be driving tourists away from Dubai in droves. Yet most of you are out there receiving tax-free salaries for building a TOURIST infrastructure in Dubai. Yet when potential tourists to the country enter an OBVIOUS forum named DubaiForums, which one would expect to discuss all aspects, not to be a personal club, one is met by rudeness and personal abuse. Is the heat getting to you ,or something? Without millions of tourists ,Dubai is finished!! Where will you go than? Back to the UK ,to which you're not contributing? You seem to have a real issue with people here not paying tax. Just remember that many of us are here from the UK being paid a tax free salary but also continue to pay our national insurance contributions.
Seems like a case of sour grapes to me. We are not all involved with building a tourist trade for Dubai. Dubai is an international business hub for the middle east. The majority of us are here as global companies open an office in the middle east and Dubai is the strategic location.
Trust me - the day when all chavs in the UK come over to Dubai with their buckets and spades is the day I leave. I'm all for tourism but just because we live and work here doesn't mean we are building a tourist trade. Even if you are not DIRECTLY involved in Dubai tourism and are in the company/financial field, your company is INDIRECTLY making money out this tourism, because all the housing is being built to house tourists or second homes for the rich of the world.......aka TOURISM!! The people involved with the shopping malls, airports, finance, housing, Palms , Burj Dubai etc etc etc are ALL involved with tourism ,directly or indirectly, once the oil runs out. If some of you think this web site is a little private club, you could not be more wrong. As I have never met Arniegang I cannot say he is my "mate". But as a senior member of the forum I respect him as he does a great job of cleaning up and general housekeeping of the forum.

Yes, the tax free income is one of many things I enjoy about this country. I would be glad to rant about service at a particular restaurant any day. Here you go again bleating on about how we don't pay tax. Many people come over here for the opportunity and fall in love with the country and stay instead of leaving after 2 years. It is a well known fact in Dubai and a standard joke amongst people that Dubai is a great place but impossible to get things done quickly in. When you live here you learn and understand it and just get on with it as there is nothing you can do about it.
Nobody is putting the UAE down - but as we live here and this is a public forum we can discuss issues that we have experienced.
This is one way you learn and understand how to get things done here. The UAE is great place to live and work. But like many other places in the world its not perfect - but in some aspects very close. The government here really care about the UAE and its people. Which is refreshing to see and hear.
