Since moving to Dubai back in December I have yet to go out with my husband without the children. I do not have a live-in nanny/maid and am not planning on getting one (so far). My children have grown close with some of the teenage neighbors and they are very nice girls. They have said they would be more than happy to babysit, and I am slowly growing more comfortable with the thought of trying it out. I have 2 toddlers, and there are two sisters that will come to watch them for a few hours at the most. What is an appropriate payment for them? I don't want to be cheap, but I don't want to over do it either. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I see a nanny as someone that takes on more of a responsibility than a babysitter. The girls are just there to watch over the children and play with them. Their mother is next door and can take over at a moments notice if something they can't handle comes up. Believe me, it's not easy for me to leave my children with someone else. That is why I have not gotten a live-in and utilized one as most people seem to do that. I ended up asking their mom what she though, although a bit uncomfortable, and she came up with a reasonable amount.
