What am I doing wrong?

priyankas_rai Hi uzee, I can understand your state as i am also an IT professional from India lookign for a job in Dubai. What I can say is that you get yourself registered in some good job sites (many job sites ,example , , in India have a scheme of Resume Flash in which you have to pay some amt and ur resume is sent to 1000 consultants in Gulf). Try to find such jon-searching websites. They help. Diect applying seldom helps as companies have tie-ups with job consultancy firms usually.
uzee Hi Guys,
Although I haven't posted here but I do visit dubaiforums from time to time, probably one of the best sources of consolidated info.
I'm an IT proffessional currently in the US and and decided that I wanted to explore the UAE market. Since Mar.2008 I have registered myself with , Clarendon Parker etc. I then started applying directly from jobs found at gulftalent and am surprised to see that not even a single response. All I get is an automatic message few weeks later that the job has been closed.
I work for a very large multinational IT company and have very decent experience, can someone please help me in understanding this no-response ?? What can I do different??
Below is a list of all UAE websites that I have compiled. I thought it would be good for others as well as getting feedback about them. Feel free to comment if you have had success or bad experience with any of them, I'm sure other members will benefit from this as well.

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestion. I'm really interested in moving to UAE or Saudia but don't know how to correctly access the job market.
uzee power8951 If you can, take the initiative to come to Dubai for 2-4 weeks. Candidates present in the UAE will always have priority over those who send their resumes from thousands of miles away. Good luck. kashaziz Most job sites are not good at all. I agree with the comment above that one has to be physically preset in Dubai because it really counts with the employer. As soon as you are here, go through Gulf News for jobs that match your skill set. Also, start your networking now because most of the positions are filled through referrals. Best of Luck. muyesser I applied to countless jobs back in London and had no replay at all.. Finally came and on my first week landed on a full time job here in Dubai, however, the line of work I am in now nowhere near to what I would do;but hey I still consider it luck.. Now, although here in UAE things are changing rapidly, most things still need improvement and IT technology is one of them and the natives are not really used to the idea yet, so the local recruaters.. you need to take time to travel and explore the area and if you can make some contacts.. bset of luck ex Londoner Mu CANMAN Hey Mu... I'm kinda in the same situation, been applying with no responses. I'm planning a trip to Dubai in Nov, but just not sure where to start when I arrive. Looking at contacting recruitment agencies once I arrive. Any tips will be helpful. Thx. andz_zmzn HI CANMAN! WHENEVER YOU PLAN TO...I'M WILLING TO ASSIST...I CAN FORWARD UR CV TO SOME CONTACTS.... WELL, IF YOU JUST DON'T HAVE SOMEBODY TO HELP YOU. FEEL FREE: melika969 Hi there, so this is stg common! I am new in this forum and I just realized that it s not just me sending resumes to diff websites with no answer. so in ur opininon the only way is moving in dubai for a while? it s not practical for me :( good luck Merlindxb All the above job sites have good reputaion in UAE. One thing you understand that if you are skilled professional and UAE really lack that skill you will be called for an interview. Common professionals like IT Admin, Office support, HR etc,the employer can easily find the required talent from UAE. melika969 I m sorry what do u exactly mean by skilled professionals. I have MBA in HR, I know 4 languages including Arabic, and I've worked for more than 5 years as HR generalist in a multinational company in Iran. But I m getting nothing from these websites. what kind of professionals does UAE need?

Technical skilled professionals are always has demand in any country.Like IT guys, oil and gas professionals, Engineers, health care professionals etc. MBA in Hr eventhough its a professional degree, HR professionals never come under skilled professionals under shortage list in any country. And in UAE you can see 100s of MBA guys. But UAE really value your education and expereince if you are here. But recruiters less prefer to recruit you from overseas bcs thy can find lot of Hr professionals from UAE itself. (I remember when i was working as a recruiter i used to get 100s of hr resumes from UAE when we advrtise for Hr positions) zooter ^that is some very good information...I am also an engineer in canada (born and educated in canada) but have had a hard time getting any response when I apply to a job in Dubai...any advice?
