I'm currently recruiting for a company in Abu Dhabi. I currently have a position for a Water Specialist.
This role purpose is Analysing and developing water treatment technologies.
Key Accountabilities
• Selection of suitable treatment technologies and management of pilot programmes to a successful conclusion.
• Review, interpretation and understanding of preliminary, concept and final design reports.
• Overseeing the technical aspects of the potable design plants for the city.
• Technical supervision of tenders and plant design.
• Ensuring that the final potable water plants are maintained and operated successfully.
Key Activities
• Reviewing feasibility studies.
• Conducting pilot programmes and studies to evaluate preferred potable water treatment technologies.
• Developing performance criteria.
• Analyzing process energy requirements.
• Monitoring O & M of pilot plants for entire duration of study.
• Coordinating with consultants and contractors.
• Liaising with governmental bodies to ensure regulatory acceptance.
• Preparing and delivering reports relating to technical issues.
• Identifying appropriate mitigation strategies to overcome problems or obstacles related to the project.
• Coordinating with consultants and contractors.
• Evaluating proposals.
• Preparing and reviewing O & M contracts.
• Review and preparation of O & M procedures and manuals.
• Minimum 10 years relevant experience on a multitude of water projects with a strong design background.
• Demonstrated knowledge of conventional and advanced water treatment technologies, including desalination processes.
• Knowledge of theory and design concepts of water treatment using poor water quality (hypersaline) will be an advantage.
• Bachelors Degree in Chemical, Process Engineering or Civil Engineering (with Environmental specialty). Masters Degree preferred.
• PE or CEng certification preferred.
