wat speed does the radars start flashin....

newimprovednf Hey lads could anyone temme wats the top speed allowed on Dubai's 120 Km/h roads. I mean at wat speed does the radars start flashin... hehe... I hav heard may tellein dat its allowed to drive till 159 Km/h on 120 km/h roads... I hav never tried it... Jus want to kno... - n ! T h u n -
fayz my understanding is this: on Emirates road (311) it starts flashing at 140, on SZR (11) before the 3rd interchange 120, after 140 and AD boarder 160. A good portion of the radars don't work though in the city. Drive safe though. newimprovednf thanks buddy for the info... hosrom_951 Be warned, radars in Jumeira, where the speed limit is 80kpr, the radar flashes over 85kpr. Liban
When it comes to maximum speed limits I know that Fayz is the man to see... Mr. Speed :) kanelli Follow the speed limit and you'll be fine. There is a reason for speed limits people! Liban
Actually the posted speed limit is not indicative of the "actual" limit as per Fayz's previous post.
Thanks to Fayz, I was able to ignore the posted limits since my first days as a Dubai driver :D
Thanks buddy!!! hehehehe.... fayz OH NOOOOO i created a monster   kanelli I'm afraid he might have been a monster already! (sorry, couldn't resist the opportunity! ) Fayz, I'm going to have to have a chat with you about your driving habits. Liban
You are a flamer. It is shameful. Not once did I attack you in this thread and yet you still take every opportunity to flame.
Sad... So sad.

kanelli I'm actually in good spirits and was having a bit of fun. I had the laughing face there, didn't you notice? Liban Looked more like a mocking face. Considering our "interactions" in the past, my reaction was out out of the ordinary. However for the interests for humor, I accept your joke and laugh along.   arniegang some people just dont get subtle humour K   easternjewel
No, A Bloody 81KMPH  arniegang
Who's been a naughty girl then ??
:P :P fayz actually all of those portable black multinovas are set at 81 as well when set on secondary roads, the ones in cars though seem to be more forgiving and are set at 101kph from what i've been able to gather. newimprovednf once i had seen a mobile radar as fayz said the black multinova kept near a u turn while headin towards knowledge village i was waiting to take u turn and within a minute or two i saw it flashin at three speedin cars so just imagine the revenue the govt might b gettin from diz... hehe Chocoholic Speed limits are set for a reason. Speed kills people which ever way you look at it, you're a moron if you go racing down the roads. Liban
Some people can't read posts.

Liban
I like plowing down Jumeirah Rd in rental cars doing 150 and going over speed bumps. Its fun....
DOOOOIIIIIEEEENNNNNGGGGGG... Chocoholic Well enjoy till you kill someone! Liban
And I hand the Gold Prize to Choco... 1st place price in the competition called "I cannot take a joke"... Chocoholic Perhaps because it not funny Liban, both my aunt and best friend from school were killed by speeding morons. So sorry I don't think it's even funny to joke about such things. Liban Spoil sport. fayz You know the truth is these cameras are not a deterrent for most of them, you can spot them a good distance away. Increases in fines don’t seem to work either, I was reading the comments from 7 days and one comment was about a guy who budgets 1500/month for tickets. Speed in itself doesn’t kill but sure as heck increases damage and loss of life when combined with idiocy. I hope black points are implemented and they are given for things like unsafe lane changes, tailgating, driving cars without headlights, taillights, brake lights, etc. Maybe it is the CDN in me talking but I’m also a big fan of daytime running lights, I think this should be implemented worldwide, in Canada when it was done in 1991 there was a statistical drop in number of fatalities and in a place where a good portion of people tint windows and driving speeds are high making cars a little more visable is not a bad thing. Oh I read somewhere that the Dubai gov generates AED 1million/day in fines but not sure how reliable the source was. easternjewel
I feel sorry to hear this choco. no wonder you get so upset whenever speeding or reckless driving is discussed. I thought you over reacted sumtimes although I din mention it to you, but not anymore. sorry for judging :D devilsmind
LMAO! its always fun to screw the rental...screech test, 360 test...
question...if u get a radar in a rental, who pays for it? remember the rental company does have my credit card info and everything...
oh btw...there are some radar in SZR that are empty....just for show :P easternjewel
yep, dummy radars as we call it. But sumtimes they fix the cams in it & SUPRISE!!  hosrom_951 Juts place you're mobile phone next to the radio and make sure that both are on. Coming close to a radar, you will hear a buzz, as if you are recieving a phone call..... It works for me easternjewel g! thnx! will try it out! :D yshimy Man, Thanks for the tip, i'll try it. tic tic tic tic.... Calculator says you will save me around 800 Dhms a month. If it worked, i owe you .......mmmmmmm a drink :D kanelli A sure-fire way not to get a ticket is not to speed. That might be too simple, though, right? yshimy My current radar detector technique (which usually ineffective after 190 Kph) is when you find straight skid marks on the road, it means someone was trying to get below 120.
after 190 kph, it doesn't work with me.
Cheers
Notice: The above technique is for the sceintific argument only, experiments were done under safe conditions and under suppervision of the professional.
Don't try it at home Chocoholic Thanks EJ. Also I particularly have strong views on this seeing as I've been out with the police all this week and heard the horror stories they've been telling me. arniegang is the system similar to the UK? ie get flashed , fine and 3 point on your licence, 12 point and goodbye licence sniper420
Oh yeah? tell us those horror stories, sniper420 love horror stories...... arniegang
Sniper loves Power Rangers as well
 Chocoholic There is a supposed points system but it's not really enforced, plus they have the problem with the locals that they always know someone and get the fines reduced or the points removed after about a week, so it's all a bit useless really. devilsmind i don't think there are points for radars...only if they catch u on hard shoulder or if its ur fault in an accident and things like that but no radars...i think... newimprovednf woooow... if dat mobile radio tech works... radar detectors prove useless hehe nyways thanx for the info... will try it... jus temme which mob do u use...
