Hi all!
I'm a filipina and am planning to move/work in Dubai. I was offered a starting salary of 3000dirham as Executive Secretary with housing allowance of 1250dirham but no special allowance was allocated. My employer wants me to leave for Dubai immediately and asked me if it's OK with me to travel on a visit visa. They assured me they will process the employment visa once I am in Dubai.
Can anybody help me...tell me if above starting salary is fair enough and if it's safe to travel on a visit visa?

cost of living in dubai is quite high, i am not sure the package is commensurate to that position, given though that its 'executive secretary' i would assume you will report to a really senior manager. do try and ask for at least double that.
you can also try to check out the current pay rates for that position in job sites or the gulfnews classifieds.

i agree with the above; there are sales assistants who get paid more!
look at a salary of between 4,500 and 5,500 + accomodation.
the visa issue, i'd be suspect if they asked you if it was okay for you to travel on a visit visa ... irrespective of what assurances they give.
try and check the company out on the internet and see how legitimate they are.
