I've been into the UAE 3 times.
The first 2 times I was given a 60 day visa.
This time I was given only a 30 day. I didn't notice until I was out of the airport.
Is this unusual? Did he just make a mistake? Is there any way to correct this after the fact and if so what is the proper office to contact?
Again any help would be appreciated.

I believe they recently changed it to 30 days for select nationalities.
What passport do you have?

My passport is USA and I don't think they have changed the stay time for the USA. Correct?

Your location is stated as France, so presuming you have a French (EU) passport you will be gived a "Visa upon arrival" at Dubai International Airport Valid for 30 - 60 days.

I will be arriving in Dubai on 30 January and was told I will receive 60 days visa. If I want to extend it for another 30 days it will cost me an equivalent of A$250 ... which is about DH722 .... wonder if it is best to pay DH500 as someone said above ...
Once recovered from the jetleg, I will attend to a few interviews and continue searching and applying for work.
In anyone's experience: how long did it take you to secure a job and how did your sponsor employer worked out your visa ? I also applied for temporary work to keep me afloat with accommodation and food expenses.

I don't see anywhere in your link that it states that it's 30 days now for the USA. The section that discusses the 34 countries with arrival visas doesn't mention how long they are for. It's the next subsection that discusses countries that need sponsors that mentions 30 days with a 30 day extension.
Everyone I have spoken to thinks the guy just made a mistake.
Does anyone else have any knowledge that Visas have now been shortened to 30 days. It's not easy to get through to them on the phone.

When I first arrived with my Canadian passport I had a 60 day visa, then when I went across to Oman and came back I was only given 30 days.

Well I made my Visa run and have new information for others that might wind up in the same situation.
First of all the visit visa continues to be 60 days not 30 for countries that have enjoyed this privilage in the past.
The person at customs who stamped my passport simply made a mistake.
Make sure when you go through customs you request the 60 day pass to be safe.
There was nothing they could do after the fact except say sorry.
I now have a new 60 day stamp.
Cheers,

Hello friends,
My visit visa is going to expire recently.
I would like to take one visit visa to Dubai.
Many of the agents here are charging 1200-1500 AED for a visa, eventhough the actual cost for taking visit visa is very less( 100-200 AED).
Where can I get Visit Visa at cheap rate?
Please help me.
