Larissa20 Does anyone have a positive experience with recruiting agencies in Dubai / UAE? I invite you to share your employment experience: Good? Bad? Trying now to get a more secured & interesting job: studying HR Management in AMU, have over 10 years of relevant experience (in UAE), registered with major recruiting agencies, received many telephone calls: "yes, you are good, you are nice, you are experienced, qualified, professional, bla-bla-bla, we will forward your CV to our client, please - stand by your phone - we will call you" aaand....silence... What is wrong? Summer? The situation is getting hot... At the same time applying to the "Global companies". Worldwide. Does it worth it? Spending long night hours sending CV here and there. Is it productive? What is the most productive way to get a job (via your experience)? As for me, all my jobs I have got via Gulf News, Appointment. sharewadi Good list of recruitment agencies you have there.

Approach companies you want to work for and ask them to give you a job.
That's the simplified version. "What Color is my Parachute?" is a good, easy to read explanation of the ways you can do that (although I find it more American in its approach than I'd be comfortable with).

I would like to know your point of view on:
"Arabs (Indians, Europeans, US/UK/SAF) only"
"female (male) only"
"25-30 years old only"
I can understand, when it's written: "UAE nationals only" [emiratization case], or "Western Educated", or "Arabic [Hindi, Malayalam, Tagalog, Mandarin, Native English, etc] speaking only"
but for the rest...doesn't it sound a little bit....discriminative? And when we put end to it? dodgeek i would suggest you do some research on the companies that you want to work for and send your CV direct to them. :). EVEN IF THEY DON'T HAVE AN AVAILABLE VACANCY!..... you'll never know! from what i can see, most of these sites probably receive thousands of registrations and applications a day and they don't have a sophisticated system to actually sort the mess out. you are probably registered user number 2,033,012..... :). And unless your skills are really special (i.e. pole dancing, splits...that sorta stuff), I doubt you'll get noticed. and as for employer requirements, then I guess they have certain requirements, i.e. their customers are mostly indians, so they would prefer an indian to serve indian customers....the language and color thingy...and if they are into beauty product sales, then they would require a young female to do a good job by potraying her own beauty...etc, etc.... and when they specify arabs only, perhaps they require a person who is a native arabic speaker or understand the arab culture really well? so whats so discriminative about that? its all part and parcel of business. they are trying to filter out the barage of CVs sent to them by stating their requirements out loud...its fair to both employers and employees. And for someone who has been studying HR Management, i don't think I'm qualified enough to give you a 101 on HR recruiting..... :oops: :shock: :wink: sharewadi
It is. This is not a democracy.
On the bright side, at least you know where you stand here. There's discrimination in Western democracies too, people are just more careful to hide it because they know if they get caught, there might be a spot of bother about it. beachbelle Try They're excellent and one of the top, professional agencies that take recruitment seriously and not just as a money-making process.
