Dubai Knight
I pulled into a gas station in Bur Dubai the other night and while the guy was filling the tank, we watched a top of the range Lexus 4x4 make its way off the highway onto the forecourt, driving impossibly slowly and weaving left to right...It had about 99% tint on the windows, Abu Dhabi plates and every accessory possible but no lights on.
It continued up to the front of the little store and only stopped when it bumped up the curb outside.
Everyone in the station was worried as we thought maybe the driver was unwell or having an attack so the Eppco manager, tapped on the window to check on the driver.
It turns out that the local lady driver, was wearing a total face cover, with sunglasses on over the top, had a tinted windscreen, didn't know where the headlight switch was...and it was night.
She had driven all the way from Abu Dhabi like this!
...and the police are going to deport professional expat drivers for wandering over the yellow line?
