As sad as it sounds...I actually miss British tele.Celeb jungle/eastenders/ramsays nightmares/top gear etc.
Is there any way I can get the required channels bar Orbit for bbc prime(load of rubbish)

The only way that I know of is using a slingbox which seems to work well from the UK.

I pretty much download 99% of what I watch... I have a HTPC setup for downloading and viewing on TV.
I still pay stupid amount of money for Showtime, but that's just for sports.

Probably. I use a projector and use the VGA on it.
PC on TV's are never great, but you can output to TV on most computers these days. It's not bad for watching TV, just don't expect the clarity of a computer monitor.

I use a media centre, similar to this you can get wireless ones and add files from any pc in the house and hook it directly up to your TV or projector, great inventions.

It can be but it would look fuzzy as crap as not enough pixels.
Best use a low resolution, max 800 x 600.
