We're in Springs and have come from the UK. I've subscribed to Orbit so the kids can have cBeebies in the mornings. Fimbles, Balamory, Teletubbies etc ( I have a 2 year old and a baby, the 9 year old watches grown up tv). These are on BBC Prime - so you can do a web search to see what shows are on there (the evening shows are pretty pathetic - Eastenders on some nights and endless re-runs of property shows, changing rooms etc).
However, note that the DIC requires annual contracts or a 500Dhs cancellation fee per subscription.
Whilst the official line is that satellite dishes aren't allowed, every other house in springs has satellite dishes (that's right, disheS) installed on the roof. So it may be worth looking into what's available via a dish - I've heard of places that can unscramble subscription channels (but I haven't looked into this as I'm still sulking about the 1 year contract thingy!)
Good luck.
Cheers,

Hey Guys, I have recently moved here from the UK and live in the springs. I have been looking at subscribing to television here but the choices seem really lame. I can choose from ORBIT, SHOWTIME or something called ABB. I am trying to find something that has good kids channels (suitable for a 1 year old and a 9 year old) and all there seems to be is Nick, Cartoon network and Disney. No CBBC :-( Also if I want english football I have to go for ART? is that correct? there subscription is not good for kids channels... Any advice from veterens?

Orbit is good for us. Last night I counted the channels for kids and there is 5 if Im not mistaken.
