Let's stop playing games for a while. I came across a quote
"The form/s we impose on the formless reflects in some ways our own limitations."
Personally, I have my own thoughts/ideas what it meant to me, but it would be more interesting what it could mean to other people. Forumers, share your thoughts.

that question is a bit like
"why are ant's ant's, and why arn't ant's lion's"?

No, isn't! Think deeper please...

The faults we see on others are those of our own.
Or my favourite old time saying...
"Just because this saying is old, doesn't mean it is true."

Hmm..partly related to the quote.

It sounds like buddhist or tao thought to me - two of the most questioning, progressive and open religons around (and very old as well).
I would say that it is suggesting that perspective is the only aspect of an individuals reality which can create a negative conception on something inherently without such a condition in the first place.
What is does not mention is that "The form/s we impose on the formless reflects in some ways our own limitless possibilties"
Here is one of my faves:
"If you understand, things are just as they are; if
you do not understand, things are just as they
are.
- Zen proverb"

Any other thoughts in this august forum?

In other words, it merely implies 'Birds of the same feather flock together'. You either identify with people who share your traits/ideals/bullshit or you shape an impressionable person to be more like you - and thus gain strength in numbers. Kind of a defeated mentality, but what the hell, not everyone out there likes to stand out like a sore thumb.

NOPE! IF only people can understand the quote, they can agree to disagree that leads to debate. Obvious, there's none. :(
