The french teen who was raped over by an HIV positive man has tested negative for HIV, his journalist mother has announced. This is good news but why do I get the feeling that this has become a money making scheme for the victim and his family? Not saying a sexual assualt did not occour, just that now the focus seems to have shifted on how much money they can make off this.

What made you say that..?

A lot of questions have to be asked about this... most of them about this thing that masquerades as law in this country.
Why did the police turn the father away when he made the original complaint?
Why was nothing done until the embassy was involved?
Why did it take so long for the wheels of justice to turn?
And most importantly, why was an Emirati man who was supposed to be in gaol from a previous offence out and about and raping people's children?
You won't find these questions being asked or answered in any local newspaper.

Indeed, none of it came out until the victims embassy staff became involved. The authorities tend to brush such incident under the carpet especially rape as its a very sensitive and social taboo to be talked about. Then tend to deny that such atrocious incidents can ever happen even Islamic states.

errr you want to tell me who on this forum is saying that such things dont happen in an Islamic state??
Wait lets go to the Vatican city and see what the old preists are up to ;).
no1 is perfect in this world and it doesnt help when you say that they " tend to deny that such atrocious incidents can ever happen even Islamic states". No1 on the forum is denying it. things like this happen but they also happen in UK, USA and so on.
It would have been better if you had something like this "Then tend to deny that such atrocious incidents can ever happen even here".

Did I ever mention that any in DF is denying this thing, in connection to the story above, if you really have followed the the incident, which you didn't the way they handle these kind of incident is clear indication that they are in total denial.

Who said this a perfect world, if it were'nt for the involvement of the victim's embassy; this case would have gone to the trash...Im not being cynical when I said the word Islamic state of which UAE is..or neither am I putting a blame on an Islamic state....

if I was them I would not even bother filing a lawsuit because the will probably be pardoned in the end. When they get pardoned everything thing against them gets put aside including what the court ordered them to pay and their jail sentences. Ramadan comes around every year and every year the Sheikh pardons almost ever local in prison...

You would be surprised how many locals get pardoned for various crimes. When the get pardoned they get pardoned from jail time and all sums of money due against them. In my opinion it is a crook sponsoring a crook if he pardons a criminal/crook without paying his dues on his behalf.

If you forgive someone then you have to pay their dues after one has gone through your local court system. So much for idiots

Not a mistake. A boy was raped by some HIV positive adult. Was headline news, but got outstaged by another "rape" story - Gang raped Saudi woman got 200 lashes for being alone with the 7 unrelated males who raped her (she was pardoned!).

It's easier than it looks, I just went over the top on detail because I didn't know what to assume you knew (and also for anyone else reading).
Short version is select text, click on URL tag button, insert "=" and link, and submit.

- *Mr. Eiestein can you explain 'relative velocity and quantum mechanics again - it seemed simple*
Sure :). Newton said relative velocity is the difference between the velocities of two objects. Einstein said yes, as an approximation at low speeds but ... At light, or close to, speeds it doesn't matter how fast two objects are going, the difference will never be greater than the speed of light (actually, that's not what he said but it might illustrate the point better).
Newton mechanics tells you in which direction a pool ball will go depending on the angle by which it is hit. Quantum mechanics explains why, if you hit a very small white ball towards a red ball, they change colors when they meet (again, I've abused the theory somewhat to make an abbreviated point).

Why are we not hearing the other side to this story? The alleged abductors/rapists also have a right to tell their side of the story. We're only hearing one side.
I don't know...it feels a bit weird the way the mother of this kid handled this situation. why go to the media? Yeah, the police weren't doing much, but that's nothing exclusive to the UAE! Sadly victims need to fight for their rights almost everywhere.
But..why the interviews? Why go so public? The public over-exposure is something that could haunt this kid for a lot longer than the rape itself....

That's why there's a court case. So they can tell their side. Which has also been reported in the media.
