Table Tennis


boricol Hi Guys, I stay in Al Ghusais, my GF in Karama. Is there a place here where we can enjoy playing table tennis(ping pong) with some membership schemes -monthly, qtly, etc ?
Unknown Devil The only place for Table Tennis I know is Sports City in Deira near Etisalat or Dubai Bowling Centre. None of them have a membership charges just pay by hourly like 10 or 15 dhs. St.Lucifer There are other places.. like in burdubai, musella tower.. u may find the the room space to be a bit small if u both r good players. but for avg players.. its good enought.. astridindubai Al Nasr Sports Club has a table tennis section, I think that is not too far for you.

If you find out about more clubs or maybe people just forming a group without being official, please let me know.
Than I can add them to the list for others looking for the same. boricol Ill check out about Sports City nr Etisalat. The one at the Bowling Centre is not all that good but something better than nothin. Only trouble the TT ball falls out onto the Bowling alley down!! Astrid, It wud be a good idea to start an unofficial club just so that all of us who have an interest in the game-not pro' can sometimes get 2gether and have a few games. I havent played since I landed in Dxb 8yrs.... And im just an OK player just keen to play again. It was the most fun and fat burning activity I have done, since I landed in Dubai. We've decided to play at least 2 times a week once on a weekend (Friday/Saturday) and once on a weekday. Almost every Mall in Dubai has a sports store - Sun & Sands is fairly popular and has a branch on Bank Street in BurDubai. Based on the brand you can pick and choose a TT racquet from 20-300 dhs.
You can play on weekend's either in Deira, its called Dubai Sport City or
Dubai Bowling Centre near 2nd Interchange on Sh Zayed Road or Ghusais has multiple tables. Al Nasr Leisureland and a few more places.
The charges are normally around 20 dhs per hour.
The challenge is to find a good partner willing to play regularly and find someoneat the same or slightly better level.

white_lady Hi Syed, I've tried playing in Dubai Bowling Centre, only problem is the ball keeps falling on the bowling area and the floor is quite slippery. I'll buy a racket first and will contact you to schedule a day to play. My playing skills is just on the intermediary level, so be patient with me. Are you regularly playing or when you have time only. I would really like to make this a routine, since it's good for burning flabs.LOl. Where are you staying BTW? Speedhump white_lady if you have somewhere you can use it, I have a full-size fold-up table tennis table, with net, balls, bats, which I don't use, I would sell cheap.
