In Arab culture it is slightly less bad to flick the finger at someone that it is to verbally insult their mother.
A big no no.... Especially to a cop, of all people!!!
Deporation is automatic in this country if you are arrested. Flashing the finger to an authority figure is a criminal offense in many Islamic countries and insults under Sharia are forbidden.

No one should give the finger, I agree with that, but making it an offense and spending police and legal resources on it is ridiculous. With the road rage people get in this traffic, there could easily be more of these cases coming.
What ticks me off is that those lewd guys on the public beaches don't get punished for harrassing and touching females, but if you give the bird to a police officer, that's an offense. How about all the reckless drivers on the roads? Has anyone wondered why the police officer was given the bird in the first place? We haven't heard that part of the story yet. (Actually, there may be doubt about whether the hand gesture was even the bird or not!)

What the acticle failed to mention was that the policeman wasn't in uniform or in a police car. I'm sure if he had been the pilot wouldn't have done it.
Please I've seen so many people use rude gestures and some much much worse than that!
