Stock Markets in Free Fall - NY opens in 3 hours

Concord *checking out Apple Orchard*
St.Lucifer Lot of people r watching and getting involved in the monkey trick of stock exchange.. And one US recession can still send out world wide vibes.. thats a powerful economy.. but sadly not a very positive signal ^ian^
It is not in recession until you have 2 successive quarters of negative growth.
Until that has been announced it is not a recession.
Edit: I should elaborate this is not a speculative question.. it just simply either is or isn't in recession. No maybe or grey areas. St.Lucifer
My bad .. a probable recession singals sent out by some agency.. ^ian^
Well, it's just all the buzzing bobbing around "is the USA in recession?" - well, no it's not because there hasn't be results posted for 2 successive quarters of negative growth. When there are, then it is in recession. Until then, it is not in recession.
It will most very likely BE in recession WHEN the quarters results are ACTUALLY posted... but that's not even a surety. St.Lucifer what ever said.. ppl all over the world.. especially in India n back home.. are loosing money.. :( ^ian^
Time to break out the Baked Beanz. shafique A few choice nuggets of advice I have read are: "Never invest more than you can afford to lose." and "The most expensive words in the English language are 'This time it's different' " Cheers, Shafique shafique Looks like the Fed has panicked and cut interest rates by .75% to 3.5%!!  St.Lucifer
Sadly one cant afford to lose any of one's investments..
Well.. gotta see how markets are gonna react to the interest cut news..

People Shouldnt Put Their All Money In Only One Direction. Because, When There Is Problem From That Direction, You WIll Depend On That- Both For Success And WIth Failure.
Diversification Is Very Important. shafique
Investing in a stock market for capital gains is no more than gambling - hence one should not put in money one cannot afford to lose. This is rule number 1 of investment.
Unfortunately, this is not the only 'fundamental' rule that people wishfully think 'does not apply this time'.
Cheers,
Shafique ^ian^ Well... the blood letting has begun and we're on the verge of a worldwide downturn economically. If the price of oil hits $150 there's a lot of screwed cats. Dubai Knight
Shurely shome mishtake! Gambling is illegal here. But they have a stock market. Does The Boss know?

Knight shafique Doh! Silly me. Next I'll be saying something sillier like 'lotteries are gambling'! Dubai Knight
Or 'Take a gamble on winning this 4x4 Nissan Patrol, by spending 30dhs. in this petrol station...'?

Germany Experts Claim It Will 200$ In Near Future.   St.Lucifer
Hmmmm with the Govt eating 30 % of income in tax and 3% surcharge and VAT PAT MAT CAT etcs one doesnt have much options left.. And
I've also heard another very interesting story of stock market being compared to Monky trade.. thats another thing..
Having said that.. its more of a calculated gamble.. (especially in case of MFs) I think.. a lot of smart people out there make a lot of money and it gives some kickthigh(since a55 is a bad word) salaries to those financial/equity analysts/ fund managers etc. Dr.D
Enough already with the racism.
St.Lucifer monkey trade. ... atleast let it be spelt correct.. I'm no racist.. I meant. Maaan ki...
