Okay, has anyone ever pulled or torn muscles or part of their sternum? (the chest bone)
I am in quite alot of pain, espcially when i lie on my side or twist to the side, or move my right arm up. A sort of stabbing pain on the right side of the breast bone.
I think I probably did it when I landed heavily during a fall wakeboarding, I crashed right onto my right side, plus have been doing some tricks which use mostly the right side too.
It bloody hurts. Any advise?

Yes, agree it hurts. You learn how much you use those muscles - breathing, walking, picking up a newspaper, just about everything.
It's definitely muscle pain? Maybe cracked a rib? I did that once also. Doctor said it would take a couple of months to come right and no I couldn't put it in plaster. Muscle shouldn't take that long though.

Don't laugh.

Yeah my osteopath said I'd strained or torn the muscle/cartilage that basically attaches the ribs to the sternum. He's not happy that I refuse to give up wakebparding to let it heal!
Although when he cracked my back into place, it did release some of the tension, so should heal quicker.

I said something similar. The doc shrugged and gave me a prescription for Nabumetone (I think) which seemed to do the trick.
