there are a few post offices around the city, you need to rent yourself a PO Box, I think 150/year, the one I use is Jumeriah Post Office on Al Wasl road.
I think many people have their mail sent to their company PO Box, you may wish to speak to your coworkers to see if that is a viable option for you.

I've seen post boxes outside a few supermarkets but I have no idea how much postage to put on the letter. I think you need to go to the post office to get stamps, have the parcel/letter weighed etc.
Most every one I know gets mail delivered to the office (once a months- so it seems)

There's a little post office / copy shop in Knowledge Village where I regularly post parcels back to Australia. Surprisingly, I've had a 100% strike rate (i.e. they all get there), but the longest took about a month to get there.
A postcard is easier to get lost than a box I suppose... did you add insurance to the postage cost?

No insurance but they asked to see a copy of my passport, birth certificate and for me to give them 5 photos before I could post it! That was just the begining. I've made so many copies of my passport that my picture now has sunglasses on for protection against the bright photocopier light!

If it were a letter it would have been required. But it was just a postcard.
