SIM cards in Dubai

rjcalvin Hello I wonder if anyone can help me. I am planning a trip to Dubai in the near future and I shall need to use my mobile telephone quite a lot while I am in Dubai. Rather than pay high roaming charges I would like to buy a local SIM card for my phone. Is this possible and if so could anyone recommend a good provider? Thanks
Concord
There are only 2 providers. Du and Etisalat.
Easy to get a Sim card - you need a copy of your passport (well you need a passport copy for almost everything). It costs about $40 and they have the Sim cards in many locations (you can buy it at the airport I imagine).. rjcalvin Thanks Concord - that was quick! gezza
I bet he hears that a lot!!!
JOKING!!! :P reviewer
Yeah he use to say Hi ho..silver away....... :walk: ..off he goes.... bonk There's three types of connections (at least with Etisalat, Du probably the same). Post-paid account (you need residence visa for this one) Al Wasel pre paid (any visa fine) Visitor connection pre paid I think the Al Wasel works out cheaper than the visitor package, especially if you want to use it a lot, but you don't get a free map of Dubai.
