Shell introduces fuel-saving fuel in Holland

RobbyG Oil Company Shell is going to introduce a new type of fuel to the Dutch markets replacing the former Euro95 unleaded fuels. The new fuel 'FuelSave' Euro95 will be introduced around April 10th this year. Fuel prices remain the same.
This new type of FuelSave Euro95 will save the consumer about one liter of fuel per filled tank. Total fuel savings for the Netherlands will be around 110 million liters a year, or 2300 fuel-trucks, or 41000 trips around the world in an average car.
The new fuel holds a special friction-reducing substance that reaches parts of the engine that are under most wear and tear during use. Every average car is able to drive up to 15 kilometres further on a single tank.
I translated this from a Dutch article that just came in.
Snow how many liters in a tank? RobbyG
I'm in a good mood today, so Ill answer that...
An average car: 50-65 liters of fuel in one tank. Snow why...not everyone knows what their car's fuel tank capacity is. RobbyG
It appears so...
I always think; Google it before you ask  Bora Bora Maybe Shell is introducing there and using it as an "experimental location" to see if there would be any health issues with regard to emissions. Thanks Shell. DPS increasing efficiency also increase usage.... Not sure if this an environment friendly or unfriendly move. RobbyG Whoehahaha what century do these guys live in...fo' fux sake. Let me state differently: 1. Maybe they build the highest towers in Dubai to test if the new types of concrete will hold....! 2. We are going to introduce a new fuel that depletes our tank even faster....! My oh my, I wonder what kind of fruity work you guys produce on a daily basis :icescream: Bora Bora Well it seems to me that you are an experiment gone wrong. Try to get it through your thick head :banghead: that it may give off emissions which may OR may not affect the environment. And whatever work it is that we produce it certainly has a higher quality of what you do for a living - Oh, wait, I forgot - you don't have a career! RobbyG
Did it ever occur to you, that every self-respecting engineer does proper research and development before introducing a new technology to the market?
Did it ever occur in your tiny crumb they call your brain, that people choose a career or quit one that doesn't offer the right benefits? I did the latter. And I just turned down another one in the Caribbean for offering me no pension at all !!!
Fortunately for you, there are more people with a brain no larger than a crumb, out there...
I ask you, get off my leg and go read something useful if it doens't interest you instead of showing of your bulby ratface everytime.

raidah ooohh somebody is on fire :P RobbyG
 sharfraz is that because of the fuel.... RobbyG
I'm a flammable character. Extravaganza.
Not affraid to unleash a proper bash occasionally to a stalking Kitty  raidah
you watch american idol? there is this guy. stands out like hell both with look, his style and his really good voice. the song, "circle of fire" or smthing like that, he sang last night. that is something to put one on fire. gave me shivers. RobbyG The Ring of Fire....very flammable character ;) Special fuel for Raidah: &feature=related raidah
yeah, the kid is an interesting combination. lips moving like the ones of billy idol, but softer. has a bit of elvis, a bit of freddy mercury. the look in his eyes is one minute sweet, the next of a phycho.
and all this is a nice lil g.a.y package :) RobbyG I think he actually has got a 'ring on fire' probably by using the so called 'package'. ;) Bora Bora
I have that effect on Robby. I get to him every time LOL. :violent3:
Misery Called Life The EU is quite paticular on emissions! No way a company like shell can launch such a product if it were to have an adverse impact on the enviroment! And if people are consuming less fuel, than emissions are bound to fall as well! The improvement in mileage was mouthwatering! But wat is this fuel, some petrol or diesel variant? Will it run on regular engines, or must modifications be made? Hulahula
Wait......Wat?? They're trying to say that the fuel additives will reach the bearing surfaces for the crank, cams, connecting rods, wrist pins, and main bearings?? That article makes no sense, as a car's computer will automatically adjust injection and ignition timing to maintain a set air/fuel ratio. No fuel additive introduced by a single manufacturer will allow for that large of a mileage jump, unless they've changed the molecular bond of the fuel which would allow for finer atomization when the fuel in injected into the combustion chamber of an engine's cylinder..... RobbyG I read the article a bit differently. In my understanding the friction in the cilinders is reduced with this fuel, that in turn reduces the load on crackshaft, bearings etc. The forces go both way, so a reduction in one section lead to less wear and tear in the other (lower) section of the engine. Also, I read some deeper into this fuel and it also contains a chemical substance that enhances a cleaner burn pattern. So less carbon stick and emissions. Shell has 100 years experience in advanced fuel technologies so its obvious they know what their doing. Test setup was driven in excess of 8000 kilometers with 50 liters fuel tank. 2 percent reduction, max. 15km per tank setup.
