For the past three years I have been in the employ of Carnival Cruise Lines; the largest leisure cruise company in the world.
My position was manager of Shore Excursions - the highest onboard revenue generating department.
I was responsible for organising & managing travel & tour arrangements for all guests going ashore
This included
•marketing the excursions, sales and escorting of guests onshore
•meeting & exceeding sales targets
•continuous monitoring and evaluating of excursions & tours
•liaising with all other departments involved in the shore excursion program
•training & management of assistants & other crew staff
•communicating & coordinating with onshore tour operators
I gained immense experience in interacting with multinational guests. US citizens, from both East and West coast, and International guests (Australia, UK, China, Japan, Europe)
While on board I completed various courses.
•Managerial: - Leadership Development Certificate; Frontline Leadership Certificate.
•SCC: - Survival Craft Course.
•Basic Safety & Firsts Aid
And I participated in all the various fields of the tour operations. I completed my open water divers, deep sea & fly fishing, Ice & Rock climbing, rafting, dog sledding, horse back riding, ATV’s, Dune buggies and many more.
I am well aware of the tour operations program and how to profile clients accordingly.
I have chosen the field of tourism as I have strong people skills. I communicate comfortably & freely with both clients & colleagues at all levels. I thrive as a team player & have a history of leadership.
I decided to broaden my horizons & seek new experiences & challenges & hence my move to Dubai.
I believe there are unique opportunities here and request that I be considered as a candidate for any managerial positions that may be available in the tourism & hospitality field.
