SALARY PACKAGE COMPARISON

Nichola Hi all, I have tried searching, and am all searched out. I've found some surveys but they only mention salary not the add-ons. I am trying to find out what I am being offered is a GOOD package for the role (Strategic Projects). I have to admit to thinking it's not. Salary 25000 pm Accommodation 116,000 pa Car/Travel home once a year Bonus is there but sounds like some organisational changes are going on and therefore, can't be relied on. Small resettlement allowance I'm still in the UK at the moment and get more than that here including accommodation - only difference is the tax. What I'm looking for, like everyone else is a great package, rather than the average for my qualifications/experience/ability. I've already decided I'd like to live in Burj Dubai, large apartment with at least two bedrooms (and two car parking spots) and lots of light. The allowance above may if I'm lucky pay for a studio in this area. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I guess my profession counts. I'm a qualified accountant with thirteen years experience in strategic projects and financial controlling. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thank you. :D
onetickin yes, 116,000pa for accommdation would be lucky to get you a studio in that area. Nichola I've went back and asked for 550k pa exc car, relocation and bonus. They raised to 500k. It's an improvement yes I know and would mean I have another 84k for accommodation, yet I still feel it's on the low side. If I am being unrealistic will someone let me know. What would I pay for a two bed apartment in Burj Dubai? My estimate is anywhere over 228k and then it may not be spacious enough. All comments welcome. :D dbxsoul well considering buj dubai is no where near completion yet, i doubt you'll be moving in anytime before the middle of next year or (as projects in the region normally go) the end of next year. i did find an add for an appartment in the burj dubai for 3.7 mil (AED) - based on that the rental would be in the region of 300 - 350 k per year of course this is a speculative purchase and sale, the final release price will ultimatley dictate the rental shaq I think Nichola was referring to Burj Dubai the area not the actual Burj Dubai tower... ie Burj Residences and Old Town. Burj Residences have Phase 1 and 2 and both have spacious apartments. In comparison Old Town apartments are very unique and have high quality finishes, however the apartments are not as roomy. Rent for a 2 bedroom in Burj Residences would be in the range of 180K - 200K so well within your budget. I used to stay there and really liked the development, however the surrounding traffic went from bad to worse so I finally decided to move to the Marina... and absolutely love it there. With Dubai Mall opening in Sept I suspect that the traffic will get even worse. dbxsoul  you know, after i logged off last night, it occured to me that this is was she meant. i had a look through the papers and have found the following price averages for the "durj dubai area" 1 BR 130k and 125k 2 BR 185k and 175k 3 BR 260k the 3 BR unit looks out of proportion in comparrision to the other 2 units though Nichola Thank you for the comments. I have heard the Marina is a good place, though was warned off as the road infrastructure would not meet demand when the development was completed. If my source was wrong, please let me know as like I said I did like the Marina. I work long hours and when I come home I want things around me to do or places to go and socialise. Otherwise it will be a life of four walls - office or home. That's why I liked Burj Dubai and the Marina. Cheers. dbxsoul

this applies to EVERY development in dubai... :) shaq Well I work in the DIFC and the time it takes for me to get home in Marina is just slightly longer than going back to Burj Residence... that's how bad it is. If your concern is road infrastructure then Burj Residence is definitely not suitable as Dubai Mall will create even more congestion. Personally I am just thankful that I don't have to deal with Interchange 1 (Defence Roundabout) anymore... regentcourtsp I am currently in the midst of negotiating my remuneration package for a job base in Dubai with a global private bank. However I need some advices from fellow bankers here working in Dubai so that I can make an informed decision. 1. What would be a reasonable remuneration package (for a Director/Vice President) for an expat working in Dubai? What should be the expected Basic salary, Housing & Car allowance per month? 2. I am currently based in Singapore. Do you think my working experiences in Dubai will be well sought after upon your return back to either Singapore, HK or London? 3. In term of career advancement, do you think that by relocating from Hong Kong or Singapore financial hub to work in Dubai is a step backward or it’s just a misconception?
