Dear Gurus,
I'm a software engineer working in US and am interested in working in Dubai. Does anyone have some idea of what the expected salary ranges for software engieers are in Dubai? I'm actually a senior level (MS in Computer Science, 36 year-old male, 12 years of work experience foucsed on java/c++/j2ee for business/financial systems) engineer/architect. Are the job market for IT there is hot? Is it a common practice for employers to provide a transportation and accomodation on top of the salary? I'm making about $95K (annual of course, before tax) here in US. Can i get paid similar level? I heard there is no income tax in dubai, which could mean more money in my pocket even though the gross income is less than what i'm currently making here in US, depeding on the actual salary and my life style. What about sales tax? If i go shopping and buy stuffs in the malls, am i get high sales tax? Here, it is about 7-8%. How high is it in dubai? Can i buy a house? how much is it for 3 bedroom single-family house?
