They came from poorest regions, where there are no opportunities (or very little opportunities) for women. Most of "Russian" Russian females are educated and able to earn money other ways. Besides, they have high value of morality. Still, why foreigners are not distinguishing them? Why word "hooker" is not associated with "Uzbek", "Kazakh", etc, but "Russian"? Bleakus

Larissa the only way to improve the image is to have more "normal" people like you who are working and living among others and meeting them to dispel a specific stigma or stereotype. And it is sort of a paradox because its hard to be a normal person here when there is such a stereotype in the first place. For example i have a morrocan friend who doesnt like to say she is morrocan just because morrocan women have been linked to prostitution here too. I told her its the wrong attitude that she should be proud and strong and prove to those people with the stereotype that not every morrocan girl in dubai is a a prostitute !!

Also, I studied Russian language at university and think it is a beautiful language. (Am sad its gone rusty on me now :( ). Russian civilisation is also impressive - look at the art, architecture, literature etc. that has come from there. I have one Russian friend here in Dubai and she is not a prostitute! She's going to be very frustrated by how she will be treated here because she is very beautiful and dresses well - so will likely be followed and propositioned as a prostitute by slimy men. i think Russians are extremely intelligent people. I have met many during my studies in the UK at University and they are usually the brightest students.

AnnaSvensson I have a mathemetic teacher at the college who spent a year living in Russia, he said that the stuff which students in US study during 3rd year at the college, pupils in Russia study at the last year at school. The education system is recognized as one of the best in the world. This is a firm fact. What I can say about Russian is they are the people who go for extreems. They are simply are not affraid of anything and anyone. That is why people in the world just afraid of them sometimes. There are 2 problems in Russia: bribe, which was there for all the years of the history and alcoholism. Remove them two and Russia will be a superior country in the world just within several years. Pity, it will never happen. And an important point: people from CIS countries distinguish. Every single nation has its own language, history and they were forced to join USSR. Uniting them in judging as the same as uniting the countries within EU. Don't think that Englishmen will appreciate if you compare them with Frenchmen and vice versa. sniper420

Oh, Thank you very much! timo Presently, i am in Uzbekistan (a former USSR republic). Soon I am gonna be in Dubai Insha Allah. I love Russians though (i am bulgarian tatar). My first language is Russian. I was born in USSR :) Many of my teachers were Russian. My dad is a citizen or Russia. When it comes to girls, well my say is that it is totally wrong to associate Russian girls with hookers. There are hookers in all nationalities. It is just that the most beautiful and smart are russians :) Demand and supply go hand in hand. It just happened that we lived in USSR and things used to change pretty fast..ppl had to adapt somehow, did they care for their reputation when they need to survive? :) Many russian girls are very educated and hot. I confirm :) 80% of my GFs were russians, as well as my present one. They are open and sincere. I can say they are more feminine than most of european, american and asian girls. I like to always know what a person is up to and i respect those who are direct, sincere and honest. Many of uzbek girls and others hide many things about themselves. They tend to appear to be angels, but many times this is a mask behind which you will see a person with inferiority complex, limited by culture and religion, using religion and culture as a cover... I like ppl who are those who they claim they are, not those who are not themselves even after they take off their masks. It is okay sometimes to wear a mask, i agree, BUT not two, not three, not a multilayered mask. Sorry for deviating a lil bit from the main subject. Knight Nick81 I don't know why Russians have a bad reputation here or anywhere else in the world. I personally know quite a few Russians and they're great ppl. Like DK said, they might seem cold and distant at first but if you make a tiny effort to really get to know them then it's a completely different thing. A pretty good example is the IT manager of one of my customers who travelled with me to Qatar last week. All my colleagues, including my boss hate the guy because he seems very cold, never jokes and is a little cocky. Well I had a blast with him, went out for drinks and had some great discussions. So like I often wrote here on the forums: everytime someone generalizes a kitten is brutally murdered somewhere in the world. :lol: asc_26 Nice one nick!
