Hi. I stayed at the Royal Home Hotel-Apartments in Bur Dubai (on Mankhool Road) for three months when I first arrived in Dubai, while I was looking for a permanent apartment and obtaining residency status. Let me just tell you all that it was a horrendous place! All of the "upper management" were no better than slave drivers. They treated their staff like garbage and tried on numerous occasions to withhold their salaries. They never sent me any bills until one day, over two months after I had arrived and began demanding payment for things that they never said I was being charged for. When I complained to the general manager, he became utterly belligerent, refusing to identify himself and then rudely hanging up on me. I strongly recommend that you do not stay there. It is no place for ex-pats; truely, it is not fit for man or beast!!!
