I desperately need help in answering a legal/moral question.
My unlimited employment contract here in Dubai has been terminated. My employer has offered to pay compensation in lieu of notice, gratuity, outstanding holiday pay and flight for me home. They state that this is the legal minimum they have to pay. My question is as they paid for my family to fly here as well as the shipment of all my household items on mobilisation out here (this is noted in my employment contract), do they not have to pay for their repatriation too? Redundancy is not in my contract and i can not find it in the company policy.
Is this fair?
Are there any legal precendence for this cost?

WTF. next you'll be asking if they should also pay for washing and ironing your undies too. Yes its fair, They only have to pay for return airfare and out standing dues which you said they have. They don't have to pay for moving your junk to where ever it came from. You were the select few people who actually get paid to move their stuff here don't expect them to pay for returning it aswell.
Cheers mate.

If it isn't stated in your contract and you can't negotiate the point with your company, then you are out of luck.
