Hi,
I'm moving out of my flat end March. However, I have paid rent up to end September.
Is the landlord required to give me my outsanding balance back so long as I've given him notice?
If so, what is the notice period under UAE law? (There's no specific notice period in my contract)
Thanks so much.

hi guys,
does anyone know anything about this? Any advice is appreciated! :)

erm normally the notice perdio is in your contract. Usually it is one or two months written notice.
Refund? You'll be lucky!
You'd be better off finding someone else to take over the lease from you.

I'm quite interested in knowing the answer to this as well. Rent's coming up and I'm note sure if I'll be here a whole 'nother year.

I'm guessing it would be quite hard to get a refund, and even if you are entitled to one going through a process with the government or whoever would be slow and most people would be leaving the country. Arranging it from over seas would be nigh on impossible.

The post's quite recent captain...
I'm still looking into it.
The deal is the flat's in my company's name, they've lent me the money as a loan and take it out of my salary each month.
But! I've decided to leave the company so basically they're saying that if I can't get the money back off landlord to give to them I'll have to pay it myself.
So... erm, obviously I don't want to and can't afford it so am a bit worried
Cheers

Like I said the best thing you can do is find someone else to take over the lease.
