REMIX is a locally produced magazine, basically about clubbing and the lifestyle that goes with it, music, gadgets etc.
Local DJ Kennedy is the editor.

Unrestricted???
Are you sure??
freza
^ nah, I'm not sure. That's why I said "it seems" I don't even know why I said that, don't pay attention to what I say (most people should know that by now.) Actually my comment was in reference to the article on the $10,000 "Escort."

Wired is so 1990's Freza.

^ It is, but it didn't get stuck there - otherwise it would have burst along with the bubble. What do you read?

I just finished reading a book discussing how Aliens are real and influence our society on a day to day basis - fantastic read.

Ralph...sounds like a euphemism. Aw, you're into observing photoshopped emblems of reality..cute.
What's the name of that alien book?
cyrix
ET and I. :)

Hardly, I do not believe in Aliens at all, as many of my friends will attest to. I do however, have quite a library here and in Australia on alienology.
The book is called "Aliens and why they are here".
I can't find it on Amazon, so will grab the ISBN number later and look it up. I bought it at Borders at MOE.
freza
I don't believe in aliens either obviously, but my reference about the photoshopped emblems was about the chicks on Ralph magazine, they're photoshopped to death (bushra style, sorta.) oh Ian.
Alienology..c'mon now!

I read it for the Aussie humour. How I miss it. And yes, they are photoshopped to dead, but it's just eye candy, and it's pretty tame. The articles are cracklingly funny though, ask Nick, he read a copy of one I had lying around.

What? I have an interest in how alien folklore has affected us throughout time immemorial. It's quite fascinating, and whilst there are no little green men, or greys, or even flying saucers.... it's great what people will convince themselves really exist.
What's your interest?

OK, now this is interesting, from this perspective, it's almost political...
I'm interested in fringe science, fashion, and performance art (like that of Orlan).

I couldn't categorise it myself. It's kind of a mix between science, psychology and stupidity. And yet there is an abundance of sighting and encounters etc. ... it's just incredible. Imagine studying something you have totally no belief in.

The science of fringes? Is this like studying the evolution of the bowl cut, to the undercut, to the spiky cut?

Well psychology of the masses can be an interesting subject to study...the way people can be swayed to believe in stupidity...

Haha! That's why I read Wired, cuz it features some interesting articles on dreamy "if only" scientific theories and subjects. Did you ever read Omni Magazine as a kid? That was such a cool publication, fringe science, art, wackiness, but it never strayed too far from reality, just delved into possibilities.

I loved the "brain teasers" in Omni.

Oh yeah, those brain teasers and math puzzles were great. And the futuristic art, so cool.

Never got it in Australia, all we got was Whizzer & Chips, 2000AD (with Judge Dredd) and Marvel Comics. Oh, and Commando Comics, which I used to teach myself to read.
I do have a Sci-Fi bent, but I am no Trekkie. (For all you Trekkies, Kirk was better than Picard). I read a lot of Asimov and Clarke while growing up, but again, limited volumes in the local library made this difficult.
Where I grew up, it was more important to be able to name the types of bull than it was to count to ten and you'd get more kudos for making a rep football team than if you did something like... come up with the theory of relativity.
My career counselor at school chastised me for taking a straight maths/science curriculum, and told me I'd never make it into university and I would be better of focusing my energies on the local rep. Rugby team.
Perhaps that's why I enjoy the study of morons.
freza
You grew up on a farm? Wow. You defied destiny...
Omni was not a Sci-Fi nor kid's magazine, it was like Discover on acid. I didn't even understand it well, but upon it's demise and when I was a bit older I began searching for and collecting past editions. I'm not a Trekie, I actually hate those shows mainly because all the aliens seem to have human-like qualities no matter how different they seem; how disappointing.
