Why on earth does eti-sa- lat block such random sites?
A new one this morning;
which is a UK radio station.
But is still open?

this question of why etisalat blocks random websites has been asked time and time again. And always the answer has been..
"Etisalat has a multiple personality dis-order. Whenever it changes into a new personality, a new site is blocked."
Very un-settling I know but we have to live with it

wonder if proxy's are gonna be used with Du broadband. TRA is going to put in uniform proxy across the region including DIC & KV etc.
Its about time we can expect a third ISP here.

I just find the whole thing one big farcical joke - its big brother monopoly played by someone who does not understand the dynamic infrastructure of the internet and that the innovation that drives development to progress and change.
The way I see it blocking should be an optional choice - if someone wants to prevent themselves or their teenage son / daughter from chatting to the other se x on myspace or looking at artistic nudes on flickr then by all means block them if they feel they do not have the moral fibre to abstain. Otherwise let the individual decide for themselves.
But why on earth block a middle of the road radio station in the UK listened to by boring old farts like myself? Showtime (piped into every home in the UAE) is far more pushing the boundaries and likely to offend cultural and religious values then Heart bloody 106.2
Whats the logic?

sssh....speak low, perhaps they will get a TV proxy up as well.
i agree compeltely to jabbajabba's point of view on what he said
they can block websites, but they cannot block emarati women from flirting around in bustan center. where are the morals and values gone?
