Hi there,
I think as a suggestion and I know this has been discussed that fight club's limit should be raised to 200.
The reason being as 25 posts is still rather new to the forum, and what goes on in Fight Club has the potential to scare positive contributors away from the forum in the early days.
Just a suggestion.
Kind Regards
Ian

I completely agree.

I agree as long as people (ie-moi) who are already FC members but with less than 200 posts dont get blocked.
:) :)

Well how are you going to control the non sense/ one word posts then? People will start spamming with one word in each thread to reach 200. I think the language in FC should be adjusted and anyone should be able to access it.

Or maybe the Moderator should be a little more carefull as to who he/she grants access to, that would cut out the spam individual. I also think the awful language should be curbed, but thats another discussion.

175bpm already has access.

Fully agree...
Actually I don't really care, but I guess it would be better to let someone else give access to ppl. Someone who posts a lot, who knows the newbies a lil better (no offense to Smartd)

dont mix up not posting much with not being on the forum much :D
Concord
Don't agree.
If the number of posts for FC is limited to a higher number then posts that would otherwise be posted on FC will end up in the "normal" forums. As$holes won't change but FC gives them an "outlet" without having to post crap on the other forums becuase they can post on FC or just to rack up post number.
I say 25 is ok. Zero would be ok too!

There's nothing wrong with tweaking. Tweaking is good.

I want a closed forum where we can post meet-up events, or if we do that in Fight Club, I'd like a higher post limit. I don't want lurkers and people who aren't frequent contributors to the community to be able to show up at the meets and just watch people from a distance (stalk) or cause a problem with people they don't like. We need a safety factor.

that's why i have been yelling on top of my lungs to open that forum.......but if ppl would have more 'sense' then it would have been better

Andyba - please, can we have a closed forum for meet-ups? The criteria for entering should be:
- a post limit of 100
- being deemed a friendly person and positive contributor to the forum
- not receiving any complaints by other forumers for stalking via PM or in person
MaaaD
why dont you use a website like

mods
yorky500
Have a core team that is previously approved and they can judge if a person should be allowed in, kinda like a sub-committee. Therefore prejudice against 1 person will not be seen as new members will be voted in.
just a suggestion

Will people really want to go to a separate website to find out about DF meets and say they are coming or not? It makes more sense to do it here. Mods are the best people to decide who gets in - I agree with Sniper and Yorky's suggestions.
(Yorky, once again you have another offensive avatar. Some asian woman stripping her clothes off.)

I like this idea too. Like what Kanelli, and yorky said about it. It would create a little privacy, and keep some trolls out too.

K,
I agree will all you have said here including the Avatar of Yorky should be changed

I proposed a section for meetups, Arnie didn't think it was worth doing.
Mostly because it is predominately a "public" forum.
Hence being a "public" forum, and going by the precedent set, there should be no special sections, with of course an exception to the one that is already there, which is in desperate need of help.
As for a selection sub-committee you will need to form a sub-sub-committee to select these, nominations should be forwarded to the sub-sub-sub-committee who will be in charge of selecting the sub-sub-committee who in turn will select the sub-committee which will then identify the right members to form a committee for accepting people into the private section.
Or... possibly we could just get over our "not invented here" syndrome and open up a section for meets which is assigned mods who get to choose who should get access or not.

with all respect Kanelli, this is both naive and idealistic. how will we judge if smbody is friendly or not? we all have ppl here liked by others and really not liked by us. so who will decide? and how? also how will u know who sends stupid msgs via post?
also arranging meetings should be the way it is now. we can put our names to the list and then receive the time and place over post.
arniegang
maybe you need to use a larger font size Bunny, or are you posting for the benefit of those that are visually challenged

I think having a private forum exclusively for members with a certain post count and higher is ridiculous
Just because a person has fewer posts, doesnt make him or her a bad person. :?
bear
I vote yay for the veterans forum!
i'm not completely sure why though...
